Right across from the riverwalk and only a block or two from one of the lovely squares, this hotel provided everything we needed and more. We were looking for a hotel where we could park our own car, and many historic district hotels have valet parking. Our room had a nice kitchenette and was a corner room, so the light was wonderful. The washing machines and dryers are free, which was a real plus for us because we were in dire need of clean clothes. The mid-week social hours provided nachos and salad one night and hamburgers, hot dogs, and salad the next. Beer, wine, and pop were also complimentary. The second night we stayed there, we actually ate lunch (which we usually skip) and called the freebies dinner. The breakfast were the best of the chains we have stayed at the first day, with eggs that actually tasted like eggs. The second day there were "motel omelets," not as good. The staff were helpful and extremely friendly and there are a couple of good restaurants down a couple of blocks that aren't touristy as the riverfront ones looked. I must note that some rooms only look out on an enclosed courtyard, so they get no natural light, but my guess is that they are nice and quiet.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room that had outside windows, and a corner room if they have one.

The staff was super friendly & the location was perfect. Right across the street from the market & walking distance from restaurants & bars. The hotel is updated nicely & a hot full breakfast was waiting for is in the morning. Parking is right behind the hotel however it is extra.

We booked 2 nights here and couldn't have enjoyed it more. We traveled by train to Savannah which meant we got there around 7am. We took a taxi to the hotel, with the hope that they would let us leave our bags there while we did sightseeing until check-in time. The kindness they showed us was wonderful. We were told to go have a free, warm breakfast and to check with them in an hour and they'd try to have a room for us! And they did! It was a really nice room too, a corner room facing Bay St. Now all the reports about traffic noise from these rooms is true, but we just considered it as part of a downtown stay. It let up in the evenings, and didn't start real early in the mornings, and it was just traffic sounds, not honking and yelling. We found it didn't bother us at all, and the view was well worth it.The location couldn't be better for seeing the city on foot, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. There was an evening social gathering one evening of our stay which was very nice. Free wine, beer and food, fajitas the night we were there. This hotel, as with other Staybridges we've stayed at, is a winner. The staff were great, kind and helpful, the rooms clean and nice, and the breakfast/social hour far better than most.

Ideal location for visiting Savannah, especially if you do not have a car. You can walk to most attractions in the historic district. Steps to the river are right across the road. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially front desk staff and Charlie, the concierge. Appetizers, wine and beer are offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5.30 - 7.30. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, although slightly smaller than I anticipated. A taxi from the airport to this hotel, and others in the area costs 28.00 plus 5.00 for each additional passenger.
I would stay at the Staybridge should I return to Savannah.

Decent hotel in a better location. If you haven't been to Savannah before, you won't believe how walkable everything is from the Staybridge. That's the best thing about this hotel. However there were some small drawbacks. Decent breakfast buffet, but coffee seemed to run out before the end, no biggie. I've never had to wait on line for an elevator before our stay, but the opportunity was there. We were on the 3rd floor, so the stairs were fine with us. Also, if you don't want a housekeeping knock at 7am, remember to put that do not disturb sign on the door. These are small, nit-picky things that were really no big deal to us. All told, the Staybridge Suites is a good, clean place to stay in a great location....if you are a little easy going about little things.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the lower 2 floors. Elevators are slow and stairs were much much much faster.

Dear mkings12,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts and comments regarding your stay with us. There is no greater satisfaction, as a customer service professional, than receiving kind words from a valued guest regarding with our location, rooms and breakfast. However, we truly apologize for the long wait you had experienced with the elevator. Your feedback is highly appreciated as this helps us gauge what we are doing right, and identify areas that may benefit from additional attention and be a basis for future upgrade and to improve guest services.

We look forward to welcoming you back on your next future visit and see the improvements made.

Sincerely,
