First I have to say Peggy is a very nice person. Her property was clean and she is clearly making an effort to improve the space and grounds. My problem was that we booked a 2 bedroom 2 bath home (that was in the title). We arrived, tired and hungry, and she said that space was booked and put us in another space. With hindsight and research, we have found that she has 2 houses on one lot. One with a "mother-in-law" type suite in a small structure off of her house, this space isn't yet even offered on the spaces she rents on Airbnb and TripAdvisor so we don't know what value she places on the space. She presumed we were a group of 4 but only 2, and she felt she "upgraded" us to this private space. She lives on the grounds. Our space (the mother-in-law suite) was newly painted and had new small appliances in a galley type kitchenette. Some doors didn't work, and bathroom had an issue which she explained. Shower dripped constantly and toilet didn't work at first but she identified the problem. One bath two bedroom no door on the bedroom connected to the kitchen. It was freezing and we had to contact her for the remote to the heater and extra blankets. First night she locked us out of the property and after banging on all the doors we called her and she came out and apologized. We had no dining area (there was a 2 seat bar, and two upholstered chairs against the wall adjacent. No television. No living room space, so though it sleeps 4, there is no common area other than the beds to sit and talk. When we approached her about these issues, she said she considers her home (across the porch) a common area and we were free to use her TV. There were other things but you get the idea. She runs the property like a Bed and Breakfast or Hostel. She does offer to make you breakfast. There is a beautiful screened in porch with an outdoor kitchen and plenty of seating for a large group. I didn't tour the other two buildings so I can't speak for them but we rented a two bedroom two bath space with sitting area, kitchen, and dining area in common spaces. This appears to be a shared house despite offering rooms in groups. As I said, it is a pretty space, nice artwork in the rooms, beds were firm but comfortable. And most importantly clean. It just wasn't what we thought we were renting. A house, in its entirety, a couple blocks away was offered for about the same money (nearly $500 for two days). The outdoor porch space was nice but we were there in April so the weather wasn't quite right for that yet. Felt like a bait and switch to us, but not bad (a little pricey) as long as you know what you are getting.
