Needed to stay in a motel for 5 nights in the area, with a clean room with a refrigerator in a safe area. Based on reviews here, took a chance and it turned out well for $65 a night. I am giving it 5 stars based on what was expected. We weren't expecting a Holiday Inn, but a no-frills clean room in a good area and that is what we got. Coffee and croissants are included in the morning and location is next to a good diner. Microwave available in the lobby.

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at this hotel. It is no frills but our room was clean, the air conditioning worked, the beds were comfortable, there was ample parking, the water pressure was good and the water was hot. It is also in an excellent location -- right across the street from the FDR library and house and about a mile from the Culinary Institute of America. There is an excellent diner about a mile north and a Starbucks about 2 miles south. It is hard to communicate with the owners by phone, but e-mail worked fine.

Room tip: This is a 1950 style motel. I prefer the rooms around the back as they are away from the highway.

Though you have to call to make the reservation, do it. This is a bargain with a clean room, though nothing fancy. Accommodations in the area are all somewhat similar. There is a pool, vending machines, and they serve pastries and coffee for breakfast. It's directly across from the Roosevelt library property and you can access the hike to Val Kill just beside it so for an active person, this is perfect. The couple who run it had good advice about where to go locally. All the rooms are on the first level with parking right in front of the room.

This hotel is inexpensive and walking distance for our visit to the FDR home and library. The room was old but clean and comfortable enough. It served our purpose well especially considering the price. The light breakfast of sweet roll, coffee and orange juice got us started each day.

It's so retro at the G.M.M. as if you went back in time. The only update is a large tube Zenith TV from maybe the 90's. Okay this is not a hatchet job review it's a factual review.
for $65 a night it's a steal. The mint color tiled bath with a powerful shower head was cute and sufficient. The queen bed was low and comfy and the hospital light above the bed was blindingly adequate.
The charming older Asian couple who run this place seem to be set in their ways and have no desire to open up possibilities like keeping the pool closed and fixing the vacancy sign out front or to automate a web site check in. However I truly enjoyed my inexpensive stay here and the weekly happy hour next door at the Hyde Park Brewery was to my liking as well. If you need an bargain place to stay in a great location with continental breakfast look no further, this is the motel for you.
