Stayed for 2 nights to see the sights around Hyde Park. Booked a King room and it was very large but very basic (absolutely no pictures on the walls). Did appreciate the fridge, though. On this stretch of road near the CIA, Roosevelt and Vanderbilt sites, there is really nothing other than these small motels. (The Quality Inn looks like it is an older hotel that was purchased by the chain). If you need pampering this is not the place, but we were satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort of the room.

Room Tip: We planned this trip a month before and could not get reservations at CIA for Sat. nite. Took the Friday night and it was an enjoyable (but not cheap) experience. If possible take the tour, too. Couldn't even get near the Apple Pie Bakery - very long lines.

For our anniversary trip to the Culinary Institute, we decided to stay in Hyde Park proper this time. We are both business travelers and did not want to partake of yet another Holiday Inn Express or whatever chain was close by. The Roosevelt Inn was just the right choice. Family-run, it is as "homey" as their sign advertises. Our room was large, clean, spare and nicely maintained. While the fixtures were dated, they were spotless and in excellent repair. There was even free wi-fi! Hairdriers, irons and that sort of "business accoutrements " were available from the manager. We would definitely return and highly recommend.

Stayed here for two nites-we don't need all the added extras like workout gym,.Bathroom had recently been renovated and they are working on updating tv.Location was great for culinary academy, historic sites and day trip into rhineback.Hotel offers breakfast in their coffee shop which consisted of cereal, fruit, bagels and coffee/juice-which is enough to get you started for the day.Rooms were clean and staff friendly.I will definitely look into staying here again.

Room Tip: not too much noise anywhere at this place even though just off main 1 lane road.

Two single women, travelling from West Point through Hyde Park and north along the Hudson, enjoyed a good stay here for one night Oct 16. Decor a bit dated but clean as a whistle, comfy bed, good free continental breakfast -- and the best part was sharing travel tips with the other visitors over coffee in the breakfast room. Would recommend it as long as you do not expect a Ritz Carlton. :o)

Room Tip: Choose ground level if you do not want to lug your suitcases upstairs to the second floor
