This is an excellent place to stay at in Gettysburg. It's located right next to the battlefield and there are many shops and places to eat at within walking distance. Check-in was quick and easy. We stayed here a week and asked to have our room cleaned early. Charlotte, our housekeeper, made sure we were first on her list every day and the room was always spotless when we returned. We can't thank her enough. The Breakfast Cottage was taken care of by Barb, Jane and Donna. They are super friendly and do a wonderful job of making sure the guests have plenty to eat. Breakfast items included fried eggs, sausage patties, fresh fruit, cereal, juice, yogurt and muffins. They made sure items were always re-supplied. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I travel to Gettysburg annually and this is our place of choice to stay. The check in is easy and we were actually given early access to our room before regular check in time as it was ready when we arrived. The room is always clean and the maintenance and housekeeping are friendly and helpful with anything that is needed. Within walking distance to museums and the battlefield as well as many restaurants so you can literally park and forget your car for awhile. The Reliance Mine Saloon is on premises and opens at 6 PM for a cold drink after your day is over. There is no food served there but you are welcome to bring your own. The appearance of a mine shaft meets you as you enter which is a cool atmosphere for this area (see pics #1-2). The free breakfast is great in the morning served 6-10 AM. Eggs made in the round so you can put a breakfast sandwich together with sausage and grab some fruit and coffee if you are ready to head out or make a Belgium waffle and sit down for awhile. It does get quite busy in there especially if there are buses in but always have been met with a friendly smile and an offer of help as needed

I've stayed here 4 times in the last couple of year. Rooms are always clean Love the location, it's easy to walk to the Battlefield, shops and lots of places to eat. This is my hotel whenever I'm in Gettysburg. Only wish i have is closed caption, I'm hard of hearing and it's hard for me to watch tv without it.

Thanks for your loyalty to us! Next time, let the front desk know about the closed captioning, and maintenance should be able to set that for you.

We stayed here recently as part of a bus tour group. The Hotel was very accommodating to our group, we felt welcome and everyone was friendly.
First of all, the location cannot be beat. Withing walking distance to many of the attractions, battlefield sites, with many interesting shops and restaurants nearby as well. Our itinerary did not include much free time, and the weather was not great, so we didn't have time to visit the pool or the "underground mine" restaurant/bar. We did go over to breakfast, everything was good, was a bit crowded, but if we couldn't find a seat the nice lady who was setting out the food gave us containers to take back to our room.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, clean comfortable and a great location.

Room Tip: no elevator, so if anyone has issues with stairs, request a first floor room.

Have stayed here many times times since our former favorite hotel, the Quality Inn at General Lee’s HQ, was torn down and restored to the battlefield it was built on. This is a busy but quiet and comfortable place and the beds are great. Rooms have everything you need and the price is right if booked far enough in advance. The free breakfast in an 1880 house on site is beyond expectations, especially when served by Barb who is super friendly. Best thing about this hotel is its location, right next to the battlefield and a short walk to the main tourist area on Steinwehr and to the Soldiers National Cemetery.
