After reading many of the positive reviews published here, I began to wonder if we were all staying at the same hotel. Our afternoon arrival last Friday left me extremely disappointed in how the hotel (actually a '50's era "motor court") is maintained and managed. After some disagreement as to what constitutes a pet (by their definition a dog is a pet, a cat is not a pet).. we were told we could bring our cat for a $10/night fee - AND we'd have to stay in a smoking room.
Needless to say, the room reeked of smoke and it was dirty. No coat hangers, stains all over the bed covers, and it looked like it had not been updated since the 1990s (or later).
Maybe the non-smoking rooms are the "nice rooms" I read about, but it surely wasn't this room.
We managed to stay in the room for 20 minutes only until we could find a decent pet-friendly hotel in the area. Our second night's charge was refunded - without the $10 pet fee - and we've contacted the 3rd party booking co. to request a refund for the first night.
If you're looking at this flop house as a potential, inexpensive stay while in Gettysburg, I'd seriously reconsider.More
