After all of these years of fearing the climb to the top, I finally did it. It's a spiral staircase but it was no problem, at all. The view of the battlefield makes it worth the climb

This is a very large monument in the park. One of the few you can climb up. Beautiful monument to stop and check out if you have time.

This was a special monument, especially since the war was fought during a serious and pivotal moment in Gettysburg, PA. So many lives lost and many innocent young men and woman.

I always recommend to take a complete trip of the Gettysburg Battlefield. However, if your trip is limited, this is one of the 3-4 places that I say are a must see when you are there. This monument is massive and impressive. The name inscriptions is incredible. You can climb to the top of it and gain an excellent view of the surrounding area and battlefield. This ties with the High Water Mark my last place to see.
