A pseudo Ashkenazi style menu. Lots of options but the waiter neglected to inform us it was family style shared plates which would influenced the dishes we selected on the fixed price menu. Somewhat odd to be served a parsley/matzoh ball, with four spoons, to share.

Recommend the avocado salad, the fluke and the salmon. The salmon was heavily salted though.

Would try the place again, now that we know the rules of engagement.

Was in town with my wife for the flower show. On Friday there was a heavy wet snow all day and winds of 50 mph. Hotels and restaurants had numerous cancellations. We could not get a cab so we decided to take our car out of the hotel garage. As we passed Abe's there was a parking garage just down the street. $20 for parking. Once we got settled in at Abe's we learned they validate ... but not for our parking garage, for the one you hit just before you get to the restaurant. Every one at Abe's was very friendly and professional. But because of the bad weather it was half empty and the staff went overboard (hovering sometimes) with their service. Doting might be a good word. And our courses seemed to come a little too quickly. Others have mentioned the noise in this place and they are correct. Very hard surfaces reflecting all those sound waves ... and the place was only half full.
Cons: noisy - you only get validated parking for the lot almost across the street - it is pricey (drinks, tasting menu, tax & tip, parking = $270 for two people).
Pros: their staff is top notch - everthing we ate was very good or better - you will probably see/taste some things you have never seen before.
You start with a small, tasty, savory sweet potato rugala. They make their own spakling water and it is better than anything you will ever find in a store. Their homemade rye bread is wonderful. I do not eat onions yet I ate the entire chicken liver mousse over pickled onions with pastrami bacon. The latke was pretty good. The beet tartar was delicious. The potato salad had a few undercooked potato pieces in it but was still tasty. The short ribs were nice and smokey and done just right. My wife liked the pickled cucumbers (she took the leftovers home and after two days of additional marinating she said they were the best she ever had). The sweet potato cake at the end was good but the "bacon egg cream" was fantastic. Overall, no complaints about the food and service.

Three of us (2 adults and one pre-teen) were excited to try this restaurant, which offers Jewish Nouvelle Cuisine. Having grown up with Jewish food, we wanted to taste the chef's take on that genre. We were so disappointed. We spent over $150 and walked out still hungry afterwards! Portions are tiny ("precious" in the foodie jargon); the food was only okay and the experience pretentious. We were really annoyed about the whole experience. Skip.

Food is good. Way to noisy.
This is a great little space, and while the food is solid, the noise factor was way too much.

Food: The Chicken Liver Mousse is exceptional. The Potato Latke's great. All of the food is well prepared with lots of flavor. The pumpkin cake was exceptional.

Service: Exceptional Service. Wait staff is extremely attentive.

Ambience: Tables are very close, but that is okay. The noise factor did us in. Way too loud. Music was over whelming.

We loved the food. Interesting dishes and well prepared. The schnitzel tacos were certainly unique. This is the restaurant who want to go to Zahav but didn't think to make reservations 3 months in advance. Loud noise level dropped rating to 5 to 4.5 but no half-stars available.
