Across from the academy of music, Estia is a convenient location before the opera or ballet. So we eat here often. But we also eat here on other occasions because this is my husband's favorite restaurant in Philadelphia.
His favorite is karavides (sweet langastino) pictured here. We usually begin with Horiatiki salata (Estia has the best tomatoes.). We pay $1 extra to have pita instead of bread with our hummus. I like to try the fresh fish cooked to order (& sold by the pound). Tonight I had the delicious tsipora (Greek dorado) with grilled vegetables. Our favorite dessert is Ekmek (pistachios and phylo dough). All our food choices are in my photos.
Staff is friendly and efficient. We have been eating here regularly since the restaurant first opened (replacing Toto, which succeeded Dillulo Centro).
Downstairs (and at the bar) we can watch slides of Greek sites.
Good selection of wines and great food with friendly efficient service. An excellent combination.
