The hotel is very nice, everything is very clean. Breakfast included. Situated in old town. There are many places where u can eat or drink. Close to the metro station. The only thing i didn't liked was the rumors coming from outside because is close to a street very trafficked day and night.

The location is ok - it is close to the riverside but can be a fair walk to the centre of downtown where the big food markets are. There is a train station that is only 1-2 minutes walk that can get you downtown though. The service is good. The rooms are large and clean. There is free wifi and the free continental breakfast is good too. The hotel is very affordable too.

We used the hop on and off bus to see the main attractions. It is only $5 per person.

The hotel itself was fine. I think the key consideration for people is their comfort with urban noise and life. The location is close to all the historic sites, restaurants, etc, in Old City, but the interstate is literally across the street. There was always background traffic noise. Equally, a small number of homeless people were always milling about the bus and subway station at the corner.

We stayed in Premium King room. Had ample space. Was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The pillows were large and fairly firm, so a winner for me. The mattress was comfortable. Good middle range - not too hard, not too soft. Traffic noise aside, we didn't hear any noise from the hall or other rooms. The temperature controls were easy to use and our room stayed cool even though it was 90 degrees outside. From the pictures online it looks like some of the rooms have balconies, ours didn't, but given the location of the hotel I don't know what kind of view they would have anyway - the view from our front windows was the interstate, and the view from the side window was the ally and the building next door. Our room also had a gas fireplace, which we just turned on to check it out. In winter it probably would be lovely. The bathroom was also large, and I was amazed at the size of the jetted tub - I'm over 6', and I was able to stretch out in it for a good soak.

The hotel appeared to consist of several old structures that were joined together. This results in the usual quirks - random hallway layouts, sudden changes in floor elevation, etc. But overall the architects did a good job putting everything together. The main functional drawback was there is only one elevator and stair (as far as we could find). Eventually waiting for the elevator became a pain so we started going straight to the stairs, but that could also be an issue as the stairs were narrow and impossible for someone to go up and down at the same time. Also, to get into the hotel in the first place there are a few steps out front - important to note if one has a hard time climbing stairs.

Breakfast was included, but we gave up and never tried. The breakfast room was small and always crowded when we went, and the spread wasn't much to write home about - cereal, yogurt, toast, muffins. Did not see a waffle station or any hot food. There was also an Italian restaurant and wine bar on site for dinner, but we didn't try it either.

The staff was friendly, but housekeeping may be a bit overwhelmed or short staffed. One day, housekeeping didn't get to our room until 4pm, by which time we had already returned and were showering and getting ready for dinner. So no bed made or room cleaned that day, although we got new towels from them straightaway.

The only other noteworthy quirk is that the hotel doesn't use keycards. You get an old fashioned key, and only one.

Small hotel by Penns Landing, away from the glitzy and business districts. Room was comfortable. Wonderful showe and comfortable bed. Continental breakfast is complimentary. Close to the subway line direct to Center and 30th street rail station. Also a few minutes walk to old Philly and Independence Park. The breakfast choice was okay. Near freeway and a bit noisy at night - the a/c was noisy and too cold.

The Italian restaurant in this hotel is expensive and I found the young staff not very pleasant. They slap on a gratuity if 18 per cent (perhaps that is the norm in America?). A small classic Margarita was 11 dollars plus tax. The high price and service put me off this hotel. But the price for the room was reasonable, compared to most other hostelleries in this city.
