Unusual restaurant. Excellent food great service. Full bar. Limited menu with a unique flair. When entering, its low light atmosphere to resemble speak easy of long ago. Music on weekends.

Always loved it here, but had a bad hostess experience tonight. We came tonight for one drink after a concert. Your website said you close at 2am. We arrived at 10:12pm and were told it was just last call and we couldn't be seated for a drink. We explained the advertised closing time of 2am and were told they are now on summer hours of an 11:30 closing time. Ok? It is 10:12pm...an hour and 15 minutes before closing??? Last call???

We enjoyed this place a few years back, and so we stopped in again on a weekday around 7 PM for a special occasion. There were only 3 main dishes on the menu. There were loads of appetizers and lots of house drinks. The atmosphere is still fun, but obviously it's no longer a place to go for a full dinner menu.
Anyone under 21 is not allowed to enter after 9 PM.
We had our drinks while discussing where to go next for an actual meal.
Our bill for one appetizer and 2 drinks was around 50 dollars.

The bookstore is something special. Upon entering you're greeted by a low, intimate light in a warm and comfortable setting. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were welcoming and great to talk with. We felt very at home at the bookstore. Drinks were unique. We had the special fish that evening, swordfish, and it was absolutely perfect. The fish was tender and juicy, and extremely flavorful. We had cheesecake for dessert to go which was another fine option.

If you enjoy the 1920's vibe, you will be right at home at the bookstore. There was a classic film playing in the corner along with some classic big band music to complete the mood. The bar is a beautifully topped in copper and the menus came out inside old books -a very nice touch.

Make sure you arrive on time for your reservation, they will open your table up for other seating if you are more than 15 minutes late.
