An excellent Hilton property in the heart of Bradenton's historic/downtown tourist district. We walked to the library, the "riverwalk," and enjoyed being in the center of town.
The hotel itself is a beautifully restored "old" hotel so the rooms are a bit smaller than one might expect at a Hampton, but what they lack in space they make up for in classy furnishings, lovely views, and helpful staff. The rooms have plenty of natural light with big windows. The staff is superb; both Krystal and Nina we more than happy to help us sort out our holiday-related issues and find us excellent accommodations.
The only issue we had (i.e. the room not being vacuumed) was promptly resolved with a call to the front desk.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room.

What a great hotel- Clean and great staff and a beautiful old restored building. This building was built in 1926 but now looks very modern with a few touches left from the original! Plenty of parking in a great neighborhood just blocks from the water.

Room Tip: High up for the best view- We were on the 7 th floor!

Tired of the more busy, traffic laden Florida locations to stay for spring training, we “moved” to Bradenton for the first time in 2015 upon the advice of a friend. The more laid back feel here is just what we were looking for. As my TripAdvisor (TA) review from the time attested, this Hampton Inn & Suites (HI&S) was and remains one of the finest Hilton properties we had ever stayed in.

This is a beautifully maintained property with a very seasoned, skilled staff. Our 4th floor King river view, corner room with wet bar was superb - spacious, comfortable, quiet, nicely appointed and with an almost 270 degree view looking north towards the river. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer room for our enjoyable six night stay - thank you. Plus it is ideally located near the Manatee River and walking distance to the museum, Riverwalk and nice restaurants. A great locale. We did observe, however, some opportunities for improvement on this visit that were not apparent three years ago.

Our first day we had a couple of housekeeping issues that were promptly resolved by Maria. She was pleasant and receptive to our needs. But we had some recurring housekeeping issues during our stay that, in our opinion, spoke to the lack of thoroughness and attention to detail of the housekeeping staff that cleaned our room. While not significant issues, resolution of these ultimately keeps a room looking consistently sharp and clean. Management may also want to check the coffeemaker as it has a habit of “spitting” out burning, hot water at the end of its cycle. My wife had her hand slightly burned twice while reaching for her finished cup of coffee.

The standard Hampton breakfast is what it is and is something the hotel can't be faulted for but can Hilton please inject some variety into their morning breakfast selections. For those of us staying 3+ nights the offerings become very repetitive. Plus there are few, if any, good options (e.g. fat free yogurt) for folks with dietary restrictions. Stacey and crew did a great job but breakfast operations weren't quite as smooth as before. The hot egg dish one morning and fresh fruit on a couple days remained empty for extended periods before a guest brought it to the attendant’s attention. General cleanup wasn’t as prompt. We missed Stacey’s personalization of the bananas the days she wasn't working. Lastly, the sheer curtains hanging by the round tables on the north side of the room have numerous food stains on them and could use a cleaning..

Even with these minor opportunities for improvement, this HI&S is still far and away a superb Hilton property that anyone will enjoy.

Room Tip: Riverview rooms facing north

And I have no doubt there will be more. I can't compliment the entire organization enough. From front desk to the staff in the dining room. All friendly, professional and willing to provide helpful tips and direction. The location is great to Old Main Street where you will find just about any type of restaurant, bar or live entertainment (one block from hotel). We booked a suite on the top floor (7th) and from there you have a great view of Bradenton and the river. The hotel is a restored bldg that has seen many different footprints over the years (originally a hotel that opened in 1929). But today a wonderful Hampton Inn and Suites. Great location to Anna Maria Island or to any other barrier island locations and or downtown Bradenton itself.
