Chef Steve and his wife are so friendly and nice, throw in great food and this place is a winner. A huge selection of food, best to visit their web site to look it over. Many daily and weekly specials, so check those out first.

The restaurant is comfy and nice, but our regular practice is this: I stop after work, order a drink at their small bar, order takeout food and before I can finish one Makers Mark, the food is out, all nice and hot. Tough to recommend a particular dish, as there are so many to choose from. Now keep in mind this is not a cheap Chinese place, it is higher priced, but big portions, and very good. A typical takeout order of two main dishes, egg rolls and one appetizer, my bar drink, is about $45. This will feed 4 people. Or two with lots of leftovers.

Check it out and ask Steve if he has been fishing lately!

China Dynasty and China Cottage have been my favorite Asian restaurants in the Dayton area for a long time. My latest visit to Dynasty was a bit of a disappointment. Next time I visit I'll review again, chances are it will be better.

After ordering it was 15 minutes for the egg rolls and soup to arrive and another 30+ minute wait until the main course. The delay wasn't caused by high business; there were only four tables occupied.

The restaurant varies ingredients in their dishes to match seasonal vegetables. This is something I usually appreciate. On this visit however my dish was overloaded with bamboo shoots. I had the Thai Hot and Sour noodles. Think of Tom Yum soup turned into a noodle dish with shrimp, chicken, and vegetables. Unfortunately 1/4 of the dish overall. was bamboo shoots. There were some peppers, onions, and carrots, but the shoots were overwhelming.

This is usually a very very good restaurant. They serve Chinese, Thai, and some Japanese and they make each cuisine authentic. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants who serve sub-par Phad Thai and Sushi as a token measure. This is not true of China Dynasty. Even with the bamboo shoot overload the flavor of the dish was excellent.

Chinese, Thai, Japanese... there are many things they can do well there. The food is the closest you can get to authentic asian, and mainly due to the use of specific ingredients and technique. it comes for a price, though, which, considering the location and the decor, it seems oddly steep.
I need to say that when it comes to sushi it is a very close one with Kabuki (literally, since it is only few blocks away) and can compete with Thai Nine for thai food.
Very, very good. Hardly the best, though.

Order the dumplins, they were amazing. I wasnt impressed with the place but the food was really good.I had the dumplins, shrimp toast, and mongolian beef. The shrimp toast was a little oily but had a great taste.
