We’ve been eating at The Pizza Cart since they really were just a cart years ago, parked in the parking lot of Ace Hardware, even in snowstorms sometimes. They were great then, and now that they have an actual sit down place, they’re still every bit as excellent.
Jason and his crew have created a real gem of a place here to eat, or get your take out.
They don’t serve alcohol, so She Who Travels With Me and I usually get our beautifully cooked wood-fired pie to go because we like wine or beer with all our meals, but that’s our problem and shouldn't be of any bearing on the real issue, which is: Really. Terrific. Pizza. And great service too. Plus a big menu and endlessly customizable options.
Home run, bases loaded.
In our minds, there are only two places to get a top-shelf pizza in Cedar City: Pizza Cart, and Centro Pizza (which is also outstanding).
The ‘Cart is kind of tucked out of the way on the south end of town. Just start out by aiming your vehicle at the inexplicable inland lighthouse and you’ll be heading in the right direction. Then do what I do: use that map GPS whatever doohickey app on your phone.
That’s the only way I can find anything these days. Sad, really. What happened to that old pioneer self-reliance we once cherished? What happened to orientation skills? Cartography? The ability to navigate using only the stars and our wits?
But I digress.
Take a few extra minutes and track this place down. As they might say, “totally worth it, dude."
Seriously. If you want a really, honestly good wood-fired pizza cooked fresh and delicious, give The Pizza Cart a go. Pretty sure you’ll love your meal, and the wonderful staff who helped you.
P.s:
In tribute to The Pizza Cart, She Who Travels With Me did an original oil painting from a photo of our last visit. If I’ve pushed all the right keys in the right order it should appear along with this review.
