We booked for 7 days (cost $2000) prior to the hurricane. Many amenities are out. Wifi is very slow and intermittent. TV only has about 8 channels (basic cable) -- no channels for young kids. No restaurant. (Free "breakfast" consisting of food service muffins a la Holiday Inn ended 12/31/2012). Starbucks is closed. We did not find the staff any more helpful or "friendly" than any other hotel. No self-service laundry. Pros- close to subway stops for 1 and R. A few blocks from Battery Park. Around the corner from the 9-11 memorial. Fitness room with a few treadmills, a couple recumbents and ellipticals-- plus a few free weights.
