“Comfortable, nice art, great location”
Reviewed 22 May 2012

Excellent location, best hotel for the price in the neighborhood. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Interesting tile art around the lobby and public places. Decent, if overpriced restaurant, but lots more to choose from in the neighborhood. Ideal place to stay for events at NYU.

Since our daughter has been attending NYU, this is the spot we have stayed to visit her. We have stayed near Times Square in the past. This is by far so much better. The hotel is clean w/nice little breakfast. Reminded of us of the hotels we stayed when visiting Paris, Rome, and London. Small, clean, tucked in convenient little neighborhoods. Has small exercise room w/2 treadmills and weights.

Love the neighborhoods and Washington Square Park. You step out the motel door and the world is at your feet. Washington Square Park is be far, my favorite city park anywhere. There are two dog parks, multiple musician, pigeon feeders who have names for all the birds they feed, chess and backgammon gamers. A great place to have a picnic lunch and people watch! It's a great neighborhood hangout! Lots of great ethnic restaurants nearby. A peace of heaven in the great city of NYC.

Third stay here. Location is great. Breakfast included in adjacent restaurant is very good. Nice neighborhood. Rooms are small but very clean. Will stay again!

Now the third stay at this hotel. The Greenwich and West Village areas are by far the most appealing in NY if you want to cruise restaurants and get amongst locals and away from Times Square tourists. THe subway is close for visits north and south. The Wash Square Park on a sunny day is entertainment in itself just watching all the music and performance and the crazy people who parade there. And the dogs with their owners. It has a gym with basic equipment but subway stairs are a good workout you can't avoid. Breakfast is suppled and good. Remember that when you are in New York if you just want to 'hang out' in your room and call that an experience, you are missing the point. You sleep in it, you wash and get changed for the next day. These rooms suffice for this purpose - I have stayed in other hotels in NY that don't have a wardrobe or a safe or a decent bathroom. This one does.
At this price I can't see us staying anywhere else and we book in for 2 weeks at a time. It has character and history and location. End of story.

This is my 6th time in this hotel. It is too expensive for what you get. Rooms are very small but clean. What they are calling a gim is a disgrace....Why i am coming back? Location location location.
