“An absolute gem in Manhattan”
Reviewed 29 February 2012

As a former New Yorker, I have an extra sense of pride surrounding this park. Just a few short years ago, it didn't even exist. Today it's a testament to the community working together to bring an exciting vision to fruition. For New Yorkers, it's the perfect place to reflect on everything good about Manhattan and you'll always notice something you didn't see on your last visit. For tourists, it's a great stop for beautiful views, great food (especially from nearby Chelsea Market) and a way to get a feel for what it's really like to live in the city. Every time I return to New York, no matter what the season, I make a point to return.

“Interesting, views of the hudson and street life”
Reviewed 29 February 2012

Interesting use of the old above road rail line. Nice place to walk after a hard days sight seeing, started off in by grabbing a coffee and muffins to go at hectors place just along the road from the steps for the high line park, nice coffee on a cold day. Started at Washington street on the corner of ganservoot st after walking up from battery park. Making your way along you find plenty of interesting views, hudson river to your left, street intersection on your right prove mad to watch the busy streets from the park. Found plenty of different seating if you wish to relax. and some interesting view points. Elevators and steps available at frequent intervals should you wish to exit to explore as you go.
With no traffic to worry, the smaller kids can stretch there legs, with no worry of a speeding yellow cab.

Our kids, not great walkers when it comes top cities, took the High Line in their stride on a sunny February afternoon. When we had reached the end they were rather disappointed it was only an hour or so long. We ambled, stopped, looked, posed, gawped its entire length. A wonderful perspective 50 feet above the city where you are looking up at the high rises, across the rooftops and down at the million and one crazy busy things going on wherever you are: traffic jams, metal recycling, elevator car parks, construction diggers and dog walkers. What fun!

“Walking walking walking”
Reviewed 29 February 2012

Like everyone we walked miles in NYC and did the Highline top to bottom - a fabulous greenway built on an elevated disused train line, with fantastic river views. We walked the length and got off the track at Gansevoort St, down in Meatpackers district and wandered through the cobbled streets of the West Village. Had a look at the famed Magnolia Bakery and stopped for a pint at the White Horse Tavern.
