Outstanding gourmet meal. Presentation and food quality excellent. Attentive staff - without hovering. Looks exactly like the photo above. They will uncork and serve your own wines - call ahead to make arrangements with the Sommelier.

Better to have a table on the ground floor, good classical food (especially the risotto with mushrooms), good wine list and the sommelier has good recommandation, the service is nice but a bit strict.

Came here looking for an elegant unhurried meal. The appetizer of pasta carbonara with uni was delicious and the star of the evening. Very rich so glad we split it as an appetizer. Scallops with foie gras was ok but the combination just didn't work for us. Chicken with a sausage on top of puree was slightly overcooked and dry. Duck breast was enjoyed. The desserts were underwhelming- so-called chocolate souffle was more like a flourless cake very dense. For the price of the meal the food was only above average except for the uni pasta which was exceptional. Service was excellent. Our first time here but not sure I'd come back with so many other high end restaurants from which to choose.

What a cultured place this is, with an excellent wine list, and superb dishes that combine taste and elegance. Just the right combination for a special meal. The staff are attentive and friendly but not intrusive.

I reserved a table at ‘Tocqueville’ because of the excellent reviews I’d read online. I then emailed the restaurant to tell them that I would be dining there for lunch with my partner after we had got married earlier that day at City Hall. I received a very nice email in return, saying they were thrilled to have been chosen for our celebratory lunch and they were looking forward to celebrating with us.
It was therefore something of a disappointment that we entered the restaurant at 2pm to find the dining room was completely empty except for one table. The room therefore was entirely lacking in atmosphere and we felt like we had to talk in low voices for the whole meal because the place felt like an empty church instead of a lively and buzzing temple to food.
Service was attentive throughout the meal but absolutely no attempt was made by the staff to congratulate us. I had thought that a complimentary glass of champagne might have been offered as an aperitif.
Anyway, we drank a vodka Martini and spicy bloody Mary while we waited for the food. We started with a truly delicious sea urchin carbonara and the soup of the day. We followed with a lightly smoked duck breast and cod with brandade. I finished with a slice of apricot tart. We washed this down with sparkling water; a nice bottle of Gruner Veltliner and a glass of Passito. The bill came to $278 incl service. And, right at the end of our meal, our server Miguel brought out a slice of cake from the kitchen for us with the word “congratulations” drawn in chocolate on the plate. It was a nice gesture but to be truthful we would have preferred a congratulations from the stuff when we sat down rather than a slice of cake at very end of the meal.
I can only comment on the time we dined there and therefore have no idea what the restaurant is like when it is full and busy, but for us it was just too empty and quiet for us to have really had a truly memorable meal.
