Description: A sultry steakhouse in New York City’s Greenwich Village where old-world glamour meets modern style and sophistication. Experience the combination of charred cuts perfectly paired with decadent sides, such as Truffle Creamed Spinach and Goose Fat Potatoes. And be sure to save room for the famed 24-Layer Chocolate Cake. Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction. Visit our second NYC location, the new Strip House Midtown at 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, or on the Las Vegas Strip at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Andrea at the bar had good knowledge of her wine product. A fix price menu available during restaurant week. The restaurant was warm and cozy on a rainy January evening. The steak was tender and cooked to our liking. The apps were a little on the small size, especially the tartar.

Great meal, good service, old-New York atmosphere, which I liked. The restaurant is split level and I'd made the reservation for downstairs without knowing it until we arrived. I would rather have eaten upstairs. I'd go again.

If you tried to imagine an old world mafia-style New York steakhouse, this would be it. White linen tablecloths, red leather booths, black and white photographs filling every bit of wall space, and dark lighting, the place really does recreate the images that you know you've seen before in The Godfather, or Donnie Brasco, or other Italian New York movies once upon a time.

Service was friendly and efficient, if a little quick, and the food was good. My spicy tuna tartare was very good indeed whilst the other two in my party both had a jumbo shrimp cocktail which was enjoyed. We all ordered steaks which had a nice crust on them but were perhaps over-peppered.

Sides were no more than ok. We shared the fire-roasted asparagus, almond broccoli and goose fat potatoes, all of which were a 3 out of 5. The truffle creamed spinach was delicious and worth a try.

For dessert, we shared a warm chocolate brownie which was lovely, but more than any normal person could manage on their own. We didn't manage to add their signature 24 layer chocolate cake to the list of indulgences we had already enjoyed.

Strip house is not cheap (our steaks were all $50+) but we all enjoyed the environment, and allowing our imagination to run wild with the type of deals and dealings that may have once happened here. We'd definitely go again one day, but perhaps not as soon as next week, or month.
