Stayed here for one week between the 9th and 16th October. Christina the owner is very freindly and made us feel at hoome. The apartment was roomy, clean and very well equipped. A nice touch is a guide book pepared by Christina, covering good places to eat and drink. Subway is within easy walkin distance as is Broadway and the Empire State. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby including a large one that was opening the day we were leaving. Stand bookshop well worth a visit is also five mnutes away. There are losts of bars and places to eat and I would stay in this area again. The apartment is very good value for the money. Note the aportment we stayed in faces the street so you do get some nosie especially at the weekends but you are in the city that never sleeps. There is also some new apartments being built just up from the house, the work is going on until summer next year, although we were not distracted by any noise from the construction site. Wwe enjoyed staying here and Christina allowed us to leave our luggage in the aprtment before our flight was due and organised our taxi to JFK cheaper than yellowcabs. Good place for a meal is the Northern Spy Food Club on 12th Street. Recommended place to drink 12th Street Ale House 192 Second Avenue - Happy Hour 5pm to 8pm a good pint of local beer and a gin and tonic only $6. Place to avoid Terroir overpriced wine bar on 12th Street.

Cute Studio, but my Adult Daughter and I decided to stay in the 2 bedroom on the second floor. This Apt was very roomy and updated. Keep in mind, this is a building built around 1817. This is my 3rd time to NYC. and first time to stay in the East Village. Was a little leary at first, but upon arriving,Christina greeted us and then I felt comfortable. Christina and Husband, Children and "Charlie" the Cat lives there as well. I liked that. The neighborhood, full of families and young College Students, but pretty quiet at night. The double pane windows helped too.Subway close. Was easy to get Cabs too. Very clean inside and out. If you want to stay in a place without the Hustle and Bustle of the City this place is for you. After 4 days of being on the run,it was always enjoyable coming back to the Apt. AND half the price or more of any NYC Hotel! Enjoy...
