There is so much more to New York than just the famous landmark buildings. Peter - The Gabby Cabby - took our family all over New York, we saw all the boroughs we had heard of but wouldn't have seen on a normal bus trip. Harlem, the Bronx etc plus some lovely little gems that are far away from the concrete jungle. He also took us to see the Brooklyn Bridge, The Yankees Stadium, through Chinatown, Little Italy and some very upmarket swanky areas. To be honest though, it was Peter's knowledge and commentary that made the trip so interesting. He was able to tell us where to pick up some bargains in Chinatown (which we did) as well as some anecdotes and facts and figures about the town. I'm sure if you were that way inclined, you could have a meaningful political discussion with him as he had a few opinions he enjoyed sharing (in a nice way!) His sense of humour is great and I would recommend this for a family, rather than the hop on hop off bus tours where people are queuing for ages complete with pushing and shoving! Peter picks you up at your hotel door, you eat whilst you are out (we had hot dogs on a street corner as we were pushed for time) and then he drops you where you want to go at the end. Thoroughly recommend to all and although it seems expensive, it is good value for money as you get to see so much.

My wife and I found ourselves with a large gap in our schedule between getting off the cruise ship and boarding our flight at JFK, so we decided to book a private tour of New York. We couldn't have made a better choice!

Peter is a genuine retired soldier and New York cabby, and he knows his city like the back of his hand. Peter is definitely gabby, and that's a good thing - it means he is willing and able to share his knowledge of New York's history, culture, and communities, acquaint ing us with NYC in a way no guidebook could ever hope to do.

We went from the Battery to the Cloisters in a few wonderful hours, and got to see and enjoy the sights and sounds of the real city as well as some of the usual tourist traps. We also.made a side trip to the Bronx and passed through Queeens, getting to see s bit of what New York is like outside Manhattan. Welistened, we laughed, and we learned that not everything people tell you about NYC is true, and what an amazing city it can be.

As we drove around Manhattan with Peter, we saw the big hop-on hop-off tour busses packed with tourists. Seeing them, we thought, "Sure, they're checking off their lists of must-sees, but are they really getting to experience the city?" Peter's private tour cost a bit more than a tour bus ticket, but the price was still pretty reasonable considering what we did and saw, we saw what we wanted to see, and we had a much better experience. You get what you pay for, folks.

Thanks again, Peter, for a wonderful day in NYC! If you're coming to.NYC by cruise ship for a day or will be staying in town for a few days, we can't think of a better person to show you around than the Gabby Cabby!

We had an amazing time. The tour was awesome we got to see a lot. We felt like we visited our grandpa. He gave us an overview of the city in a short time. We got hot dogs and pizza. We were there a little over 24 hours. It was great not having to figure out the subway system and getting to enjoy the the city without having to deal with all the crowds. This is great for first timers so you can figure out what areas you would like to visit on your trip. Traffic is horrible but Peter makes it tolerable with conversation and jokes. My teens even enjoyed it so that says a lot. Would definitely recommend you to friends and family.

As a first time visitor to New York, this tour couldn’t have worked out better! Peter is knowledgeable, patient, and very friendly. We enjoyed his company and his conversation. He showed us that there is more to New York than just time square. We took the Manhattan/Bronx tour. We would love to come back and take his Brooklyn tour as well. If you’re looking for a personal tour guide, look no further. Book Peter he is the real deal.

This tour was delightful; the only way to see so many neighborhoods in Brooklyn, from Coney Island to the Brooklyn Bridge. Paul customized things for us too so we could see where our father grew up and mother went to high school. He took us to some cool sights and neighborhoods in Manhattan too on the way to and from our hotel. This is definitely the way to get to know the city!

Peter was recommended to me by an acquaintance that listens to him on the radio. This was our first trip to NYC, so we booked and got an amazing overview of the different neighborhoods, Yankee Stadium, his 'secret spot' to view the Statute, a great lunch and so much information. We came away with a great understanding of NY and the people that live here, and even heard Peter interviewed by a radio station in Nova Scotia. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
