Owner description: From its inception, Macy's Herald Square was a store unlike any other. Over the past 150 years, it has become a true New York City icon. Built in 1902, Macy's Herald Square was the first building to have the modern-day escalator, and it has continued to be a trendsetter. Today, "America's Largest Department Store" covers an entire city block with 11 levels of the latest fashions for you and your home. Macy's offers a full-service Visitor Center on the Mezzanine Level, plus restaurants throughout the store and exciting events almost every day.

No visit to NYC is complete with a trip to Macy’s as stated on here! So of course we visited, it was huge and would probably take forever to look around all of it but we did look at every floor and even went on the old wooden escalators which were cool!
I ate at Aunty Anne’s and had a pretzel which I’d been looking forward to forever! Then we just wondered around, it is pretty expensive but we didn’t buy anything, just browsing!
Still a good place to visit though :)

lots of bargains in here you can get! and for all ages. Be sure not to get lost as there are many floors. There is also a macdonalds inside!

This is a very impressive department store, you could spend a whole day there. It is also located perfectly in the heart of New York, worth a visit.

Yes, we are tourists. Yes, we live in a village in the middle of the British countryside. We had a tiny window of free time on our first trip to New York, and I chose Macy’s.
When so much shopping is relegated to anonymous concrete malls, it was a breath of fresh air to go to a proper shop, with old-fashioned wooden escalators and a proper warren of departments to get lost in.
If only we hadn’t been so shattered, I’d have enjoyed it properly.

Loved this place.
All the designers and brands you could ever hope to find in the one place.
So big, you could easily get lost in here...but it'd still be fun.

You have to visit.
