“Very Interesting & Informative Tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2011

Tim has a wealth of knowledge about Broadway Theaters. He explains everything with a lot of enthusiasm. He pointed out the interesting architectural aspects of many theaters that I had walked by in the past without noticing. He has an incredible knowledge of the theaters previous plays & told interesting stories about the actors & owners of the theaters.
I would definitely recommend this tour!!

Our group of 8 ranging from 14-73 thoroughly enjoyed Tim's tour. It was more comprehensive than we expected and held our interest throughout. Tim is a font of knowledge and a charming fellow.

“It was the most interesting tour I've been on!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2011

Tim was SO interesting to listen to. Each theatre came with a funny anecdote, or interesting inside scoop. He really knew his stuff. He could list all the plays that had been in each theatre, and what famous actors performed there.

Tim was so nice and was an interesting person himself. He told us a little about his life and how he came to New York. By the end of the tour, we were all laughing as if we'd known each other a long time.

I wanna thank him for being apart of my FAVORITE day in New York! And PLEASE, go on Tim's tour! You will not be sorry. He is very passionate about the subject, and will keep you hanging on his every word. Thank you, Tim, for the whole experience!

“Great tour... Perfect for teenagers!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2011

I have nothing but rave reviews for Tim Dolan, our guide, and Broadway
Up Close Tours. First of all, we called at the last minute and were pleasantly surprised when Tim was able to schedule us at our convenience. We let him know that we were in town for a few days with our 15 year-old "drama nerd" daughter who was experiencing NYC for the first time. He was absolutely wonderful with her! He talked about what it's like to be a working Broadway actor... A very realistic yet positive outlook on a lifestyle that many teens dream of for themseslves. He pointed out the Actors' Equity headquarters and the high-rise building that serves as rehearsal space for all of the shows. We came away with good feel for the close-knit community of actors and production staff that call Broadway home.

Tim is very well-read and his mastery of the histories of theaters he features on the tour is impressive. He even emailed me following our tour to further clarify a question I had regarding the paint color of a particular theater. He explained the history of the area and how the theaters came into being. His stories were so entertaining! We learned about a few theater ghosts, some colorful owners and producers, and a certain ape statue... You have to ask Tim about the ape statue!

Finally, Tim gave us some great advice regarding which shows to see and how the theaters handle Last minute ticket sales. We decided we wanted to catch an off-broadway show and did exactly what Tim suggested when purchasing seats. We bought same day tickets at a huge discount and were thrilled when they turned out to be front row center! We couldn't have asked for anything more in a tour. Tim was friendly, funny, and very professional. We recommend this tour to anyone going into the City to see a show... It will make your experience even better.
