“Hopefully again ...”
Reviewed 8 November 2011

Hi,
we, 2 adults and our 8y old daughter, were staying in NYC for 1 week at the San Fermin Appartments - especially for running the NYC marathon. We selected the place very careful, because during our visit in 2009 in NYC we had some dissapointment. This time it was clearly the opposite. The room was spotless clean, everything was prepared for us and Bernado was waiting for us when we arrived.
The place was 100% safe. At Haloween our daughter went through the streets (we for sure were in the background) and asked for "sweets" in every shop. We came very often at 11pm or even later back to our appartement and felt never unsecure.

The subway is 5 minutes away and with the "A-Express Train" you are in 10 minutes at the south side of the Central Park - which is just great.

Bernado is very helpful and was especially patient with our daughter, which needed every morning a new subway map to glue at her scooter .....

At our last day Bernado alowed us to stay in our room until 5pm. He had to prepare it after we left for the new guests on Sunday evening and I thank him again that I could get the shower after the marathon ... . When we left Bernado was coming out with us and was organizing a Taxi for us - a small gesture - but one you not always get!!!!

So in case I will get another spot in the NYC marathon - we will be there again ...

We stayed at San Fermin for 5 days end of September on our first trip to NYC and our stay went far beyond our expectations (which were high). We had the lovely appartement at the upper floor and really had the feeling of living there. The neighborhood was so quiet we could have the window open at night.
I still cannot understand why this place is so unknown, its location is great, close to the A subwayline taking you to Time Square in 15 minutes and to JFK in an hour. Harlem is not an unsave place, it is a nice neighborhood. If you're there on Sunday, make sure to spend some time just walking around between the local people spending their weekend and going to church.
Bernardo helps you with all obvious and less obvious things you need to know for visiting the city (the unknown TKTS booth without queues!) to have a good balance between the must-see attractions and just experiencing the city.
Go there before everybody discovers this place and you have to reserve 2 years in advance!

A few days ago we stayed at San Fermin apartments in Harlem. No matter what you have told: Harlem is a safe place with excellent service and friendly people. In the center of this charming neighborhood are the San Fermin apartments, which are even better than the neighborhood: new, comfortable, bright, well equipped and cheaper than a hotel in the center of the city, which can be reached in 10 minutes from the very close subway station where two lines express stop. There are good restaurants with live music and interesting places to visit nearby...
What more could you want? A friendly, knowledgeable and resourceful owner? There is Bernardo, nice and friendly, he is up to date on what's happening in every corner of this big city (it seems incredible, but it's true), he knows how to advise everyone according to his tastes and needs. We had visited New York several times before but he managed to recommend very interesting places we have never been before.
One last thing: the website pictures do not lie, the apartments are exactly as they look at them.

We stayed at San Fermin for 4 nights on a first visit to New York (we are from England) . I was a little unsure about Harlem - it had a reputation in the past. The experience was all positive: as we arrived a young chap in his work suit helped me up the steps from the metro with my heavy suitcase. On the way home a youngster with low slung jeans and a hoody helped me down with it! The apartments are a short walk from a subway station so there is no problem with getting to the southerly parts of town, although on our first day we walked - all the way downtown through central park.
The apartment was roomy, comfortable and peaceful. Bernado was on hand to sort out any problems, even taking us to the metro station to explain the different lines and ticket options. A great stay.

We have been 7 days in San Fermin B&B and I recomend everyone this B&B. The owners are very friendly and they gave us a lot of tips about the city such a restaurants, things to do and see. The room was big, peaceful and very clean it had a little kitchen which you can prepare your breackfast or whatever you want. Harlem district is complitely save therfore you have a market, chemist and some restaurants and fast food close the B&B. Harlem is just 15 minutes to Manhattan midtown by undergroound and there is a direct line from the airport. In my opinion this B&B is a good value for money.
