“Great day out”
Reviewed 11 February 2012

It will set you back $24 dollars per adult but heard alot of others saying that they got coupons from local papers which dramatically reduced the price. The apart from the carrier with an extensive collection of aircraft it has a submarine and Concorde. You need at least 4 hours to see it all and Concorde is at an additional cost. Lots to do with the kids. It also appeared in the movie I am Legend with will smith

“Really Amazing even if you aren't into the military or boats or planes!”
Reviewed 11 February 2012

I'm not an avid military fan, nor am I one to get excited over a battleship or war plane but I have to say this was an absolutely awesome visit and I thoroughly recommend it. It is so entertaining, a great day out, has decent food options, really good souvenir store and the exhibits are so interactive and well maintained that you can't help but get hooked. I can imagine anyone who has actually served in the military or who appreciates war battleships & planes would just adore this exhibit. I definitely recommend doing the private tour as it gives you extra access to the planes & helicopters that are roped off (you can sit in some of them) and you have access to other areas that the general admission people don't get to see. It's the best upgrade you'll pay in NYC.

“A Ship”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have never been there and as a New Yorker we wanted to experience all we can. A ship doesn't really interest me so I can't really give a good review. The movie they showed was interesting and well put together. I did like the Growler Submarine which is right there next to it.

“A special day out”
Reviewed 5 February 2012

We spent a morning at Intrepid but could easily have spent the day there. We paid the extra to take the Concord tour - the guide was really knowledgeable and spent time answering our questions and telling us stories and facts that we never knew even though we are from the UK. We were then allowed time to take pictures and go into the front of the plane. Following the tour my husband went to see the submarine whilst i walked around the various decks. Later we walked through the various levels of intrepid chatting to the many ex service personnel. A lot of them had served in WW11 and were happy to speak about their time, one gentlemen told us how he was a fighter pilot inWW11 stationed in Scotland, Kent and then into Europe following DDay. We found these conversations very moving and it really bought home to us what freedom is about and what a debt of gratitude we owe the men and women. There were other service personnel who had seen action in other wars and were able to speak about that. Everything on Intrepid is well set out and it is really worth a visit there

“Living, Breathing History Lesson”
Reviewed 3 February 2012

Every time I go to NYC, I'm always impressed by how well they seem to do everything. The Intrepid is no different. Boys will love this place. They'll be amazed by the size of the ship, the many military aircraft, being able to explore the bridge of the ship -- while at the same time getting a history lesson about WWII. We also took the optional tour of the British Airways Concorde. The guide was fantastic and it was well worth the upgrade. Can wait to come back in the summer to see the Space Shuttle they are getting.
