Owner description: The park includes, on one end, Hope Garden - a memorial to AIDS victims - and on another, the ferry that'll take you to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, not to mention a number of other memorials and monuments scattered in between.

“A bit of quiet in the city”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

The park was very nice to walk through and just escape the busy side walks of the city. It was interesting to see the temporary 9/11 memorial in the park. As well as the aids memorial. I would recommend taking sometime out of your trip to NYC to experience the park, I know you can take the ferry to Ellis island from here I didn't but it would be a good excuse to stop in the park.

“A pefect conglomeration between business and leisure”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

I fail to understand in amazement how this place, which is supposed to be the Central business District and houses the world trade center, can also be such a leisure place for new yorkers. Its amazingly well maintained. Offers great potential for biking or running or just soaking up the sun. The Hudson looks stunning and you have the Jersey City Downtown across the river to make a Skyline for your photographs as well. I love this place.

“"Going to Bat"”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

Much to the credit of the New York Police Department, this former junkie-haven has now been cleaned out so that once again visitors can enjoy the beauty and the peacefulness of this outdoor space, similarly Bryant Park in Midtown.

“Good harbor views”
Reviewed 25 February 2012

also go on Staten Island Ferry (free!) from here. Old battery is here (fortress), war memorial, Holocaust Museum; walk north along the river is very nice.
