Well worth a look around. Free map when you enter - loads of things to see. Main Library rooms are huge.
The teddy bears that were the original influence for the Winnie the Pooh story are on display in the children’s section too

The gift shop and lower floor is bustling, as tourists admire the beautiful architecture, but for those seeking a quiet space to study or work, there are designated areas for you, where silence is actually observed. It’s a great place to work if you don’t mind squeaky floors. The gift and book shop on the ground floor is great, with everything from novelty bookmarks and tote bags to ex-library books for a great price. There may be a lot to look through but it’s worth the time to find a good deal.

Hard to find a more beautiful library....this building is stunning. Marble is everywhere and be sure to look up at the ceilings....beautiful woodwork. Just walk around and marvel at the architectual wonder of this building....and there are books here too!!!! and places to sit and read and special exhibits. Worth a visit.

This beautiful and famous library is well worth visiting whilst in New York. You probably won't spend very long as a tourist, but do pop in to see the beautiful architecture and design of the place.
