I took the Central Village tour. Raheem, the guide, was friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. The tour consisted of a variety of tasting's, from Italian to Cuban to Indian to desert, and was full of valuable info about eating in the Village. In between servings Raheem also filled us in on some interesting trivia about the neighborhood, the restaurants, and Washington Square. When it was over I had a better sense of where to eat and where to have a beer. Very well done. I would recommend the Central Village tour and will likely try another tour with this company.

“Best way to discover food, culture and local NYC.”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

Seriously excellent tours. We love food, local history and architecture. These tours cover these brilliantly. We did classic Greenwich village and meatpacking/Chelsea market tours, our guides, Barri and Diana (particularly loved hearing the history of Irwin cohen and the development of the market and area) were superb, adding great colour to our tour.

Highly recommend this to native New Yorkers and tourist from abroad.

You must book one of these tours.

Only bad thing was we didn't have time to do another tour! Next time! Foods of NY- we will return!

“One of the best things I've done in Manhattan!”
Reviewed 28 March 2012

I took the Chelsea Market tour with Kurt as our Tour Guide. Kurt was amazing as a guide but even more amazing at remembering 15 peoples names in a matter of minutes! This tour mostly took place inside Chelsea Market, and the last hour outside. We had samples in many places and most were a good size thus eliminating the need for lunch. Kurt was full of funny anecdotes, helpful hints and interesting information about each store, the market itself and the surrounding area. The bldg. is home to the Food Network! After we left the market we walked up a flight of stairs to see the Highline (an old train track transformed into a park-like setting and walking path. It was beautiful and full of people walking and eating lunch outside - so very New York. I loved its history and the view of the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River.
Kurt managed to take us into Morimoto's restaurant (from Iron Chef) - we did not have food samples here, this was a place to use the bathrooms and what a bathroom it was! You'l have to go yourself to see what I mean!
We then walked over to the Meatpacking District (1-2 blocks), learned all about its past and present and then sat down at a private table in the kitchen of an italian restaurant where they served us a small plate of yummy pasta. This was the highight of the tour as we were all at one table and it felt as if we were in a friends kitchen in Italy! All-in-all I'd say we had about 7-8 samples of food (ranging from a piece of chocoate, mini-cupcake, a cup of chocolate milk to a generous serving of lobster bisque and a large fresh french roll and italian cold cuts)!
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys food shops, restaurants and learning more about the history of this great little part of Manhattan!

A great way to see an interesting part of the city. An informative but relaxed tour of china town with excellent food on route. The guide and the other members of the group made this a great experience. Will definitely look up one of the others tours when next in town.

“Guide, Tour and Food Awesome”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

This was my wife and I's favorite thing we did all week. The guide was hilarious and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the day was perfect. We only wish we did it earlier in our trip so we couldve eaten at all the fabulous places she suggested. Sefrah (sp?) was awesome. Totally recommend it to everyone.
