“Steins collecting”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

Focuses on the Gertrude and the other members of the Stein family and how they collected and promoted emerging artists (at the time!). Awesome exhibition. Lots of Matisses and Picassos

“Magnifico”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

Give yourself plenty of time - or return a couple of times if possible, or only choose a couple of favourite sections (eg Egyptian or Modern or Renaissance) so that you can wander and wonder at leisure. Truly rivals the Louvre for sheer magnitude and scope. Even my 20 year son, who thought NYC was just for shopping could not be dragged away from the Egyptian exhibits

“great museum w/ best collections in the States and museum tours”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

It's conveniently located along Central Park, beautiful scene all year round. You can take train, bus, or taxi to the museum. It opens typically 1030am till 530pm, $25 suggesting donations, audio tour is $7, and highly recommended if you are not going to join any highlight tours. It takes more than a day or two to go through the major collections/exhibits, so be ready for intensive walk, wear some comfy shoes, and feel free to walk out for a lunch, as far as you keep the pin, you can come back for the same day. My favorite part of the museum is the Egypt temple, it's a real temple moved here and you can stand in front of the temple and look through the window for beautiful scene in the Central Park, it feels like you are in a time machine. Enjoy this museum, it's the greatest museum I have ever been to in the States.
