If you're venturing from the city all the way out here to try the famous poached egg and ramen don't make the trip! If you're in the neighbourhood sure why not. I did enjoy the baos they had, great flavours. But as a tourist from Melbourne I was really disappointed in the ramen, it was hella expensive for what it was, my egg wasn't perfectly poached like the videos of MOMOFUKU ramen you see, no runny yolk when I opened it up and the broth had a burnt taste to it. I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected I would. I would rate 6/10 for the ramen. And I love my ramen.. Sad to say I was really looking forward to it but left really disappointed :( better ramen found near Times Square.

My husband and I visited Noodle Bar in May. We were fortunate enough to get the last two spots at the counter overlooking the kitchen. Go early because it fills up fast! We had the shitake buns and pork buns, both were delicious. We also each had the momofuko ramen which was really good! I would definitely go back if we're in New York again.

I've heard the place is amazing, but the restaurant was crowded and the hostess was kind of rude, so we left. I wouldn't bother, try a different ramen place in the city, or do what we did and walk to Xi'an's famous foods instead.

I have never written a bad review on trip advisor before but felt I should after the service we received. We expected a wait after hearing that this place was so popular and we were happy to wait. What was disappointing is the poor quality of service and rude attitude the hostess gave! I don't think she smiled the entire night and talked down to people who were simply just asking how long the wait was! This goes to
show how important first impressions are as the dining experience and the rest of the staff were both pleasant experiences.

Read through some of the other reviews on TA and you'll notice a recurring theme: this place is overhyped. And the thing is... it's true. Momofuku Noodle Bar is good, but in my opinion isn't as good as options in California... heck, there was a place in Vancouver that I liked more. Nonetheless, if I were craving ramen and I happened to be in the area on an off-peak time period (think early dinner), I wouldn't hesitate to go.

If you're a tourist, come see what the hype is about. It's reachable by bus and the subway. Then go get some Crack pie at the milk bar, a short walk away. It's not a place I would seek out again on vacation, unless I'm with a fellow tourist who has never been and wants to see what the fuss is about.
