The Mountain lodge has the ambiance of a classic mountain inn with perfect location for visiting Hendersonville, Asheville and the surrounding areas. But it is the team that operates this place that’s truly sets it apart from its competition. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave they make you feel at home. Their friendliness and commitment to insuring you have a great stay are what makes it feel really special. Scott, Taylor, Sonja and the housekeepers and others behind the scenes are a great group of people who make this place come alive and why I will hope to return again soon.

Although not so little! It's a great hotel. I had to stop here to meet my sister in law to take a road trip. We were pleasantly surprised with how nice this place was for the money! It was the perfect location for touring around Asheville, Lake Lure, Flat Rock, Saluda, etc. It's just a great area in general. Be sure to visit downtown Hendersonville for a meal!

We booked this hotel knowing we’d be coming off of 12+ hours driving with two kids and a large dog. We just needed a clean, safe place to crash before spending the day in Asheville and this place had free parking and breakfast. We hoped it would be worth the 20 min drive to get to Asheville and it was!! Amazing staff, a beautiful facility, and personal touches have ensured that we will seek out this hotel on future trips to the area. The hot breakfast was just ok (we opted for cereal, fruit, and bagels on day 2), but our bellies were full and it saved us the cost of one more meal out. We ended up extending our stay, and the staff was kind enough to move all our gear into a new room while we were gone. The pool is small, but the kids didn’t care, they were just happy to have a place to swim after long days out on the town.

Our local church held a celebration dinner evening program that couldn't have been more perfect. Excellent planning services with events manager Wendy and chef Antoinette. Exceptional quality, choices and presentation of the food. Perfectly functioning A-V equipment. Warm, accommodating and attentive service, including from owner Scott, who rolled up his sleeves and worked alongside his staff to create an outstanding venue for our celebration. Hard to rate the rest of this review since we are local and only used the banquet facilities. I'm picky and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue for a wedding or other dinner program for a large group.

Room Tip: I didn't stay at the hotel, but the one couple who attended from out of state were also very pleased.

The place appears neat and relatively clean, but worn and slightly shabby. It fulfilled my needs and is very conveniently located right by the highway. But if you are looking for a place with any character, this is not it. I don't mind no character, but then I want crisp, clean, fresh, etc. The staff was nothing to rave about either. For being North Carolina, they were not particularly friendly. Not a lot of energy in the place or the people.
