We aren't "foodies" but we do dine out and like to treat ourselves every now and then. The experience was fantastic, from the opening of the doors to the phone call the next day asking us if we enjoyed our meal. The decor was retro yet modern, service exceptional and the food did not disappoint. We usually get wine but were very satisfied with the cocktails, especially the orange mojito. The Jumbo Lump Crab appetizer was decadent, perfectly seasoned and the shrimp with atomic horseradish was yummy. The crab fried rice was great, a tad bit salty for my taste but it made a great left-over the next day and the twice baked potatoes were a big hit. The Wild Mushroom Salad salad was the "best salad I ever had" according to my teenage daughter and the Caesar salad was not only a work of art, but just simply perfect. The entrees were fantastic, from the 8oz Filet Mignon, the seafood medley special and the wonderful Pacific Ahi Tuna. Lastly we had to have the Banana Foster Cake, it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The only "complaint" was that a very large party came in during our meal - we prefer quieter environments as a couple us are sensitive to noise and we had to yell a few times to talk to each-other but when we come back we will try to ask for a quieter spot. This is the third time I noticed that making a reservation via OpenTable doesn't put us in a great spot, may just be a coincidence. When I noticed this restaurant was ranked #7 in San Diego I tried not to have unrealistic expectations, but the food and service was #1 in our book!
