I stayed at this hotel for a few nights while on a business trip. The hotel is clean, with friendly stay and in a very convenient location. Gaslamp Quarter is a 10 min walk away, with lots of restaurants/bars/pharmacy etc

This is a quaint hotel in the Gaslamp District. I love the history that has been captured in the decor. The rooms are comfortable and have great views of the city. There is so much to do within walking distance, it was nice not needing to utilize a vehicle for most of our outings during our stay.

Room Tip: great views in gaslamp district

My BF and I were worried about getting into San Diego at 11am and checking in at 4pm. We went to the hotel to drop off our bags and the staff said they had a room available for us to check into! It was the greatest thing being able to feel at home and relaxed so early into our trip. The entire staff from the front desk to hallway was super friendly and attentive. Will definitely return!

We were there two nights. The first night we were in the least expensive room, and as others have said, it was small. For a larger couple, it would be tight. The second night we had booked a bigger room and to our pleasant surprise, were given a suite! Suite was much more roomy- nice living area and the bedroom was comfortable. Good location. No restaurant per se but there is a restaurant attached to the hotel (but not a part of it) that had some good wines. We didn't get a chance to try the yoga/walking tour as the days didn't work out but I love that they offer it. No fitness center or pool. All in all, a good find!

We stayed for 3 nights at The Sofia Hotel and it was a great experience. The location was excellent both for walking to various downtown attractions, and for commuting to the beaches, parks and the Zoo. Both the desk and valet staff were helpful, courteous and efficient! Finally, the value for the room and location was good. Recommended.
