Great location of the hotel. Nicely and fully furnished rooms. Big, king size bed and comfy to lean on. Very clean restroom and shower. Great customer service and friendly staffs. From the rooms you can see the view of Petco Park. Pricey but enough for the services they had provide to us. Highly recommended.

Pros:
1. Nicely decorated rooms
2. Comfortable beds and bed linens.
3. Friendly valet service
4. Easy access to I-5 and area attractions

Cons:
1. Smarmy employees at check in (long lasting impression)
2. Expensive valet parking (usual for downtown)- do not recommend area parking lots!!
3. Horrible maid service (towels, toilet tissue and Kleenex NOT replaced, just a few of the many unpleasant experiences)
4. Bland, expensive food at the hotel restaurant
5. Lots of street noise. My room was on the 6th floor.
6. No fridge=more hassles than you can imagine

I always walk into a motel/hotel with a positive mind set. My reviews are usually fair and
positive. However I can not give this hotel a positive review. I frequent San Diego and will not stay at this hotel again.

Room tip: Ask for a fridge and a room on the upper floors. Street noise heard clearly on level 6!

I have to completely agree with last reviewer thats a platinum member. Its a 3.5 star hotel not a star. In this district you will have several hotels that are 4 star to choose from. The hotel is located a little out of the way to be considered gaslamp, but walkable. Bar and restaurant really regular hotel standard. service is good, i like the hotel runs on mac everything. rooms are not huge, but decent would be a great hotel for around 100.00 a night off peak.

Room tip: get higher floor room

I stayed at this property for a week with a group of people. The bar and restaurant are awesome and they even open the huge windows so it feels like you're outside on a beautiful day. The murals and decor of the hotel are clean and fresh, really up to date. The front desk staff and bell staff would all say, 'Welcome back' when you walk through the entrance...it was really amazing that they remembered who were guests of the hotel and who were local friends of the guests! The rooms are so clean with the hardwood floors and I'm obsessed with their keurig coffee makers!! It's also a great location with tons of shopping and cool local restaurants within walking distance. This is a great hotel and we'll be back!!

This hotel is rated 3.5 stars and as long as you manage your expectations, you will not be disappointed. The room was average size and comfortable, although nothing special about the bed or linens. The bathroom is larger than average and very nice, including a large walk in shower. Aveda products are a nice touch. Housekeeping did not fully replenish towels, toiletries or coffee one day, but once the front desk was called it was taken care of reasonably fast. The restaurant and bar are not memorable. Breakfast selections were limited and the food was mediocre. There are far better choices an easy walk from the hotel. The bartender served a martini with crushed ice floating in it. Although I am a platinum card holder for the chain, the front desk only noticed it in the reservation after I pointed it out and we were given an upgraded room, which as best I can tell simply meant a higher floor. The free high wireless internet was a very nice touch. Upon departure for the airport, the door man put is in a non-metered taxi. He told us the fare would be the same, but when we arrived at the airport the driver told us the fare was higher. Not a big deal, just not appropriate. In general the staff are pleasant and the rooms are fine, and appropriately rated 3.5 stars. Cheaper four star rooms were available in the area for the time we visited, so we were slightly diappointed.

PVBRANDY,

Thank you for your review of your stay! We appreciate your Platinum priority club status & are glad we were able to get you an upgraded room type during your stay. Our views of either downtown San Diego or the Petco Park area are lovely from our view rooms. We apologize for any inconveniences you had during your stay but hope you give us the chance to inspire you during any return visits to San Diego.
