This is a modern clean apartment with all essentials. Loved that some basics such as coffee were provided as we arrived very late on the first night. Self check in was a breeze. Parking underground was an additional cost but well worth it for the convenience.
The area I think is under transition. Lots of nice condos but very desolate. Hardly any store fronts in the area and a lot of street people a few blocks away in a tent city. However we were never bothered and felt safe in the area. Just no where to really run out and grab a coffee or anything. There is a supermarket a couple of blocks away but you're better off driving to a further one.
That being said the location is fantastic to drive to all areas of San Francisco. You are right off of the freeways. We were at most of our destinations in less than 20 minutes.
We would definitely stay here again.
The location was amazing. Within walking distance of many bars and restaurants and the Gaslamp district. We had 4 adults in the unit. The unit was very clean and perfect for all of us. We will be using Stay Alfred again for our next visit to San Diego.
Excellent location and very clean upon arrival, with clear directions on how to obtain key and parking pass. Price is very budget friendly as well. They also provide great amenities and two bottles of water.
However, two annoying aspects of the stay : large charge on top of what they quote you on hotels.com website for cleaning fee, that was not mentioned anywhere on the page or booking confirmation. Watch for the surprise charges. We had to call hotels.com and talk to someone directly to get it adjusted. Also, they ask for identification and photo proof of all guests who are staying, plus all information and emails of each. This is very strange, and not sure we want to book again through them as we didn't find this out until after we booked.
Great place in the center, everything within walking distance. Apartment is very clean and nice with easy parking.
I can rate this vacation condotel a 5 but because of the hidden charges that either Stay Alfred Resort management nor Hotel.com carrier site cannot give me a refund much more an explanation of what the extra charges were made me rate them 2 stars. Let me begin by saying the condo unit, the amenities and its location is great... no complain. The problem is the hidden charges. It was published on Hotel.com for $121/night and I booked for 2 nights stay; upon online checkout, they charged my credit card for $396.44!!! at $192.22 per night!!! I called Hotel.com and told me they don't know and I have to call the condotel management. I called Stay Alfred management and told me that there is $50++ per day charge for cleaning services(???). I asked why it did not reflect on the posting with Hotel.com nor any of the hotel travel websites, and that they can only tell me is it's not their control, technically acknowledging the hidden charge. Since it's Thanksgiving weekend, I go ahead with the reservation. My disappointment is that there was no actual/physical cleaning service made during our stay!!! we have to manage our own garbage and dispose them. Use the the nice clean towels for the whole extent of our stay with no replacement. I asked for a refund of the cleaning service but to no avail. Even how much we like the place, I still have a heavy heart for the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE we received.
