“A unique getaway from the city”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

It is worth your time to make it out to this park. It's a little ways outside of downtown San Diego, but I did walk to it in about 30 minutes from 5th Avenue downtown. A simple bus can also take you there. The park has several different sections and museums. I did not pay and thought I got to enjoy a lot of it include the free Botanical Garden (so gorgeous) and I enjoyed the Spanish inspired areas the most. There are also art shops to enjoy. Spend a few hours there. Maybe bring a picnic.

“Museums and more”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

Although most people go to see the zoo (well worth seeing), there are so many little museums that you should plan a whole day just to see them. Some are quite small and do not cost very much. You can buy a day pass that lets you into 5 museums. We just took a short walk across to Cucina Urbana and had a wonderful lunch, too; but they do sell food right in the park. You can see street performers and the people in the visitors center are extremely helpful.

“Beautiful park”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

Great museums...more than you can do in one day. The rose garden is great in the spring..and I enjoy the desert plant garden. Spanish Village is an area where many artists have studios and works for sale. I can spend a whole afternoon there alone. The many hiking trails in the park are great for those that want to get some exercise in a green (and hilly) sitting. Much more to be found if you want to explore.
