The BSO is simply a world class institution. I have never been to a concert at the BSO which did not have a profound effect on me.
That said, it is very unfortunate that such a cultural experience is marred by the shoddiness of its hospitality services: very run-down service counters, uncomfortable and unsuitable dining furniture, very unfriendly service and worse of all, a service on plastic trays with plastic cutlery without even an inkling of hospitality culture. Is it too much to ask that at least a minimal effort is made to prepare and serve the food in a manner which is befitting the occasion? This part of the BSO experience clearly has to be rated as "terrible" which sadly detracts from an otherwise cultural highlight in Boston. While the catering is clearly not a reason to attend the musical performances, it is such an intrinsic aspect of a night out at the concert which can make the experience truly exceptional and bring it in line with similar venues in other cultural capitals of the world.

Beethoven never disappoints, and seeing his work performed by a world-class orchestra in this temple to Beethoven (his is the only name inscribed above the stage) is something that no one should miss. The visiting piano soloist was sublime and the maestro majestic. Looking at the orchestra, the BSO has clearly attracted talent from every corner of the Earth to this one concert hall for you and me to hear. It's worth a visit. We come once a year to support the Arts.

What a great experience with the combination of live music and the audience reactions to the movie! It brought a fresh light to watching Amadeus. I would highly recommend this performance, what a great experience.

I would recommend any of the concerts here as the acoustics is out of this world, and just being in the hall is an experience as you are surrounded by so much history. Stumbled upon the casual concert this time, and didn't realize this concert was a bit shorter than usual (which means I could get home at a decent hour), casual, with free food before and after the show and a drinks coupon. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Really enjoyed myself. Highly recommend.

When you plan to visit Boston, I really recommend you to book a concert ticket of Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO). This historical orchestra makes consistent and plentiful music. Boston Symphony Hall, the concert hall of BSO, is located in middle of Boston and easy to arrive via T (subway). Also, they hold Tanglewood festival every year - today was that day!
