My wife and I celebrating an early Valentine’s Day dinner with a superb meal that included: tuna tartare which was perfectly seasoned, the lamb Bibb salad with roasted pears and cream cheese, the artisan cheese plate with an amazing blood orange marmalade, the beef, mashed potatoes with truffle oil pizza, and the Belgian chocolate sorbet. Everything was outstanding with impeccable service. After almost a quarter of a century, this wonderful Boston restaurant has lost none of its glitter or quality.

My husband and I love to go out to brunch. We dined at Mstral today and it was wonderful- the menu is very creative and unusual, the restaurant is elegant and beautiful and the service was first rate. The menu was so good that it was very difficult to decide what to have. I ended up getting the Classic Eggs Benedict (with a lovely smoked pork loin ) and my husband enjoyed the roasted fuji apple pancakes that were just amazing.
We look forward to visiting Boston again so we can return to Mistral or one of its sister restaurants.

Trendy rustic French, I love the long bar here, great for lounging with a wine and some fois gras with fried cherry gastrique, or go for the delish roasted pear pizza with Gorgonzola and burnt honey - the expertly thin crust is tres french, and their pizzas truly are standout if you don’t feel like a more formal plate. Lovely dining room, romantic and refreshingly consistent in both food and service, like the Mistral winds that blow through it, it stands the test of time and is a Boston landmark.

The atmosphere is very nice but a lot of the tables are very close together. Some of our dishes were excellent but some were only good and I expected better. The truffle fries and truffle mac and cheese were excellent. The escargot was good but nothing special. The dole sole was very good but for the price it should have been better. The service was very good but nothing special for a restaurant in this class.
