I have stayed at the College Club several times in the last five years. It's a rare property that offers single rooms for the solo traveler, and in the off-season, they are a very good deal. Each room is individually decorated, with perks such as books and CD players in the room, and a downstairs lounge offers cappuccino and cookies around the clock. The breakfast is not as good as it used to be; I tend to just pick up a cup of tea and a piece of fruit and then go to a bakery (such as Tatte on Boylston Street) for a second course. But the location is perfect, and it's a homey and hospitable place to stay.

Room Tip: For the solo rooms: Oberlin and Tufts are the biggest rooms, but beware, they get a lot of early morning sunlight.

The College Club of Boston is a unique and historical place to stay. The building and rooms are dripping with simple yet time honored elegance. I enjoyed my experience there, while weathering Boston's latest snow storm. Donald and staff were kind enough to let me safe harbor for several hours after check out, while awaiting check in at a conference a few miles away. This is a bed and breakfast hotel with a fascinating history, a great laid back vibe, and the location can't be beat. I will be back!

Loved the location. And wanted to get the feel of Boston, not just a chain hotel. Great communication from staff regarding door code and it was very convenient to have area to store luggage. On the downside, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Very hard. Amenities very basic as well as basic continental breakfast. Very nice to have coffee and tea available 24x7 but breakfast starting at 730 is too late if you are there for business with a morning start. Fruit not offered every day. Safe area with lots in walking distance. Also had a peculiar smell, especially in lower level bathrooms.

Such an amazing place in Boston - on a fantastic street, quaint lodging, and old world feeling. Reasonably priced and includes breakfast. The room we had was very spacious and had a beautiful view with giant windows. There was also a fireplace - such a nice touch. Staff was friendly and it was easy to check in/out. They also allowed an early check-in without a huge deal (unlike most hotels these days). Have already made plans to return in the spring - we both loved this place!

The College Club of Boston is well-established, and has beautiful bedrooms which are very comfortable indeed...I booked a single room with shared bath, and was delighted to be ungraded to a large double room with private bath...
The whole place smacked of class, and intellect...I just loved it...
Edith the Club Secretary, and Donald, the resident Caretaker, were lovely people, ready to almost anything to help, and I felt very much at home...I shall definitely return to no 426 which I am reliably told is one of the best rooms in the house!
