We stayed here on our St pattys trip this year. This was our first visit and I was NOTvery impressed at first. The location was questionable as was the entrance. We had to go down a few steps as we entered with our luggage. We then had to proceed to a set of elevators and go to the 3rd floor to reach the lobby!! After that we had to take another set of elevators to our room. When we did reach our room, it was beautiful, clean and bright. Our multiple walks, and I do mean multiple walks to downtown Boston were nice. There were plenty of stores, restaurants and patrols. That's where I found out the reasoning behind the ENTRANCE. The building itself is over 30 years old, so it was originally designed to keep the RIFF-RAFF out. It still does, because there is a doorman and also someone in the downstairs lobby, not to menton the numerous people on the 3rd floor before you get to the second set of elevators. It actually sounds more confusing than it is. We visited the hotel bar, where we met Peter and William. They were great!! They were our highlight of the hotel, and they didn't even know it. I would definately stay here again. All the staff were great. A special thank you to Peter and William !!!! Last but not least, our room service was precise on their timing, the room was perfect and quiet....the halls were quiet....and everything was clean, clean, clean! ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS!!!!

I chose this hotel because it is across from the Opera House, and we were in town to see a show. The set up is a little different bc the lobby is above street level. This was only a minor inconvenience to us, when you want to come and go. The hotel was clean and the room was nice. The staff was helpful as well. There is a pretty good restaurant on site. Good for drinks or a pre theater dinner. It is close to some shopping and other areas (We didnt have time to explore much, but there was a Starbucks, CVS, Macys, DD, cafes, and theaters.)

Room Tip: hypoallergenic room was clean, neat, and had an air purifier.

Stayed here for the night on a business trip. Very good service, good hotel room. Clean, good bed, good facilities.. what more do you need... Breakfast more than average. Hotel is in a good area of Boston, at walking distance of all there is too see. Good choice.

This was our third or fourth stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Boston and very convenient to the theater district and to Chinatown. Unfortunately, the hotel is in need of some updating if it is to remain a five star hotel. Right now there is construction work going on outside of the hotel and it is dusty and very noisy. This construction will continue for a long time to come as they are building a sister building like the photo attached.

The rates are expensive considering the noise, dust and building works as well as the the hotel needs updating. See the photo of the cracked basin in our room. Also, the bath tub waste lever did not work and so we could not empty the bath tub after taking a bath!

We will return but only after they make improvements to the hotel and the construction work nearby has been completed otherwise they will need to adjust their rates to compensate.

We paid over $300 per night and when we complained about the noise and construction and problems with the room, all they said was "sorry" we wanted to extend our stay but they were not even prepared to offer us a better rate so we moved to another hotel.

We are grateful that you have chosen to stay with us on several occasions. Judging from your profile’s travel map, you are clearly a seasoned traveller and have a good eye for how a hotel should be kept up. In fact, we too think it is time for some updates and are currently in the process of renovating many of our public spaces including the hotel bar, lobby areas and meeting spaces. We also just completed the refurbishing of our guest pool. If you plan to visit Boston again over the summer or fall, I am sure you will be blown away by the total makeover. Also don’t forget that we have a knowledgeable and efficient maintenance staff at your service to handle any guest room issues.

As for the outside construction, we are very aware of the noise levels and apologize for any disturbances. I would like to inform you that the new building is in no way affiliated with Hyatt but is instead a residential project that will be a great improvement from the vacant lot which used to take its place. Thankfully, the groundbreaking and excavation phase will be finished soon so many of the jackhammer-type machines will be silenced. Also keep in mind, the construction only takes place during the week so weekend travellers will be able to sleep in late without any disturbances!

We truly appreciate your regular choice of the Hyatt Regency Boston and we are sure to impress you on your next trip to Beantown!
