Such a beautiful building.
You can get in free with some sightseeing tickets so check these out first.

It was great to hear all about the history of the building and of Boston's massacre.

The only downside I would have to say is the boring, monotone guide we had the day we went.
I think you can just do the self guided tour and look up anything on the web you are not sure about. Much more interesting!

Thank michAustralia

We got in free with the purchase of our hop on hop off bus tour tickets, which was really cool. There were a lot of rooms with different exhibits telling the history of the Old State House and Boston Massacre, etc. There are guided tours you can join, or you can explore on your own!
It was very interesting and informative and is a great place for kids as well.

Beautiful old building and great little tour. You can either self guide or wait for a guide. I recommend waiting for a guide as it’s very small and worth waiting for someone with knowledge. It cost 10$ per adult and free for young kids. It’s worth it as you get some interesting history about the Boston massacre and the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence in Boston. You also get to hear the history of the building up until now.

The old house was the seat of British government. Later,tThe Declaration of Independence was read from it's balcony.
The building has excellent history displays in each room, with period furniture and portraits.
The bottom floor shows how the building was renovated over the years. it is very interesting

Lovely museum right on the Freedom Trail. Well worth the admission--definitely stay for one of the docent talks. We were lucky enough to hear two of them during our visit and both were really interesting.
