Keeping in mind that the quality of Americanized Chinese food in Asheville leaves an incredible amount to be desired (or any style of Chinese here for that matter), New 1 China gets a semi-enthusiastic thumbs up. It certainly is light years ahead of its competitor down the road; Dragon China, and is probably just a step short of the ever reliable Oriental Pavilion. an assortment of fresh, crunchy veggies, peanuts, juicy slices of all white meat chicken, non gloppy sauce; this was the medley that my Kung Pao chicken was composed of. Other than no scrambled eggs, the pork fried rice was as it should be and the fat eggroll that accompanied it got itself dunked in duck sauce until it quickly became no more. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, their staff was kind and efficient and the small dining room, while certainly nothing fancy, suits the needs of this working man well enough. I can see myself becoming a regular here now that I clock in just down the road. Recommended.
