“Great lunch place in Asheville!”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

We stopped in for a quick lunch here and really enjoyed the chicken chili and antipasto salad. Super fresh ingredients and friendly staff...this was an unexpectedly good meal during our short stay in Asheville!

“Outstanding in its Field - One of Asheville's little known secret places!”
Reviewed 30 January 2012

Roman's is just simply a great place. No questions or if's or buts about this quaint little restaurant/deli downtown. I recommend and will continue to recommend this to every tourist that comes into Asheville. As a local I will go out of my way to go to Roman's for a sandwich or a salad - trust me its worth it. Going for a hike on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway? Then head to Romans and get a "To Go" package for lunch or afternoon snack as you sit and gaze at Mother Nature's creation and realize not only are you seeing creation but are eating a great creation! Want a fast, but homemade sandwich, which will make your day then head to Roman's. The staff here is family related and from the all the kids who work at the restaurant to the parents - they are very hospitable and conscientious of their customers. I have commented to the adults on how well-mannered the kids are and how professional they are behind the counter. Asheville is known for its eclectic small owned restaurants and Roman's lives up to that. The sandwiches are all awesome, good size and never leave you hungry for more - can't find a bad one! It is by far the best place for original and healthy sandwiches and the soups are so delicious. They use local foods and suppliers! Healthy too! And the cucumber and pasta salads - make Grandma's look tame. And the cookies, wow - always have to have one of them. Eating at Roman's is a feast without breaking the bank. Great prices, EXCELLENT FOOD! and convenient. Located right on Haywood Street next to the Asheville Convention Center it is probably the best place if your wanting the best food, fast service, and in a hurry to continue enjoying the WNC mountain region. Put Roman's on your list the next time you are downtown Asheville and make it a "Must Place to Visit". . You will be glad you did but beware - You will get hooked on this place and will certainly return! Just writing this review makes me think about going to Roman's for lunch!
