Great location just outside the city of Asheville. Right behind the house is a creek that was really great to listen to in the evening before going to sleep. We hiked the trails behind the cabin and really enjoyed the peacefulness of that area. We also drove 30 minutes and hiked some of the other great trails in Pisgah National Forest. John has a couple great maps/books to figure out where to hike.
We went into Asheville a couple times for dinner and enjoyed our meals and beer. Asheville loves their craft brew!
While not totally secluded, this clean and well appointed cabin was a great find for an Asheville Spring Break trip. All you need to bring are clothes and food. Nice to have a cabin equipped with kitchen supplies (baggies, dish soap, spices, etc) so you don't have to buy everything. Washer and dryer nice so you can pack light. 15-20 minutes drive to local grocery stores which have great selections of produce, local beers and wines. 30 minute or less drive into Asheville to enjoy the city.
Beds are super comfy. Fireplace really works to warm the cabin., Weather was mostly cool and rainy during our stay, which was disappointing. We wanted to explore the trail behind the house, but no go. Creek behind cabin provided lovely ambient noise to fall asleep to. Bathroom had all supplies and good amount of towels.
Deck is on side of house with excellent grill. Maybe owner would consider adding a deck at the back for better privacy and view of woods/creek.
Owner was very responsive when we tried to get the Netflix to work (the previous occupants left the remote in the couch). Wifi worked well. Enjoyed the variety of DVDs as well. Just a note - really no cell service at cabin. Make sure friends and family know this if trying to get in touch with you.
The Creekstone Cabin was absolutely perfect. We loved the location - the trail out back was lovely, the drive up to the parkway was curvy and fun with stunning views, and close enough to Asheville to do some exploring in town. The cabin was so cute and cozy - the spiral stairs do take some getting used to! The kitchen is well stocked - far better than I expected it to be, not only with spices, oil, etc. but also all of the dishes, pans, baking dishes you could need (maybe another glass wine glass would be nice), allowing us to make some yummy meals, when not gorging ourselves on all Asheville has to offer. The growlers and daypack were a nice touch - they have thought of everything to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Thank you!
My boyfriend and I stayed here a week too celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We were so in love with the cabin as soon we stepped inside. We enjoyed sipping our morning coffee on the patio while listening to the sounds of the forest and the babbling brook behind the cabin. Such a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle yet still so close to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. We didn't want to leave after it was all said and done! John was great in checking up on us and we spoke briefly to the caretaker and she seemed wonderful as well! Definitely recommend!
This adorable cabin was perfect for my husband and I on our big celebratory trip. It was far enough away from town to feel like your in the mountains, but close enough to easily zip down for the fun to be had in Asheville. John was so helpful with the whole process!
