Despite a very rocky start. I called to purchase tickets because we wanted to go on the premium tour. I was told that the tour was sold out but that it was possible to add tours and I would be contacted if a tour was added. A week later I called again and was told the same thing, and told just to expect that we would be on the tour at that point. A week before we were to be there I called again and was told the maximum number of tours had been added and that they never called to let people know tours were added! I was literally on the verge of just cancelling the whole trip to Biltmore. The day we went was the opening of the Chihully art glass exhibit, which, in my opinion detracted from the beauty of the grounds and gardens. Despite shards of glass sticking out of everything it was an enjoyable day. We did the rooftop tour and saw some very interesting things about the houses construction. Got drenched in the garden by a sudden downpour, but dried nicely in the winery.
