“A big motel.”
Reviewed 9 October 2011

It was fine. Big comfortable rooms. I seem to remember that it even had a small fridge. The attached restaurant was very satisfactory.

We spent one night at the Big Horn Lodge. A very nice place to stay. Big tidy room, a great location in the middle of the town, with walking distance to everything. Also great location for a visit to Arches and Canyonlands NP. Staff vere nice and friendly

My friend and I stayed at Big Horn Lodge for three nights while visiting Arches, Canyonlands, and other area attractions. It was pretty good value for money and we only had a couple of complaints. First, the air conditioner was in the bathroom area, and the cold air mostly seemed to stay in the bathroom area. Now, any air conditioner that can keep the room reasonably comfortable in Moab in August is a good and worthy air conditioner but it would have been nice to have more control over the temperature.

Secondly, the window situation is a little odd. The rooms have a wall of windows. The windows are tinted and there's a curtain that adequately covers the windows. But basically your options are either "completely closed curtains, zero privacy" or "completely closed off to the world." Also some of the other guests liked to hang out in the parking lot right in front of our room, which was kind of loud.

The decor is dated, but you can see that on their own website. The fridge is a good size. The hairdryer and TV worked fine. There's at least one, maybe two laundromats within easy walking distance, and it's an easy walk into downtown Moab (a hot walk, though, in summer).

Room Tip: Downstairs rooms can get a lot of noise from parking lot; consider asking for second floor.

We always stay here when in Moab, which is one to two times a year. It's not fancy, but the room is adequate and clean. I would have given it a better rating, but the outdoor pool, which we always use, had a ring around it, like a dirty bathtub. That was a first, so I hope it's not an indication of a slide in cleanliness elsewhere. We like it's proximity to the Moab Brewery, just a block away.

Stayed there for 3 nights to go jeeping. Good package deal with the jeeps. Very clean. Nice beds. Toilet/shower room a bit small. A.C. struggled to keep room cool on hot day being on top floor. Friends room on same floor had no problem. Restaurant next door has good breakfast. I would stay there again. Not a fancy pool by any means.
