Came in around 1:30pm on a very rainy Monday and there was no line. Having read TripAdvisor reviews we grabbed a ticket and then chose our sandwich rolls from a bin. We handed the rolls over and off the gentleman went creating our Molinari’s deli special and the prosciutto de Parma sandwiches! He loaded up the meats and carefully wrapped them in two pieces each when we mentioned we we headed to the airport. What a treat. I wonder why I walked by this place so many times in other trips. Glad I read TripAdvisor suggestions as this place is a classic winner.

Consistently delicious and has remarkably remained the same place since I was a kid.
Be sure to grab a number upon entering the tight-spaced establishment as it's always busy, try the specials and always go with the way your "server" would prepare it for themselves.
As the sandwiches are legendary, check out the freezer section in back where you can find some of the best raviolis, but the real gems are the lasagnas (traditional and a vegetarian option) and the eggplant parmesan. Perfect for those stay-at-home comfort food dinners for two.
Always brings a local back...

One of the greatest afternoon pleasures for me is getting a sandwich at Molinari's and eating it in Washington Sq, I also like picking up some fresh Ravoli and pesto to take home for dinner. If nothing else I just love to walk into this old North Beach estblishment to smell the place, It's a simple pleasure that makes life all right with the world.

You choose your own roll from a bin and then give it to the counter and tell them what you want in it. The price varies depending on how many fillings you decide upon but the salami and other cuts are all are all fantastic. A definite stop when walking around North Beach.
