The Ritz Carlton Residences are located at 690 a Market Street in SF and they are wonderful. They are 2-3 bedroom residences that can be booked much like a hotel. The amenities are wonderful! Valet parking, the 12th floor has a indoor / outdoor lounge area to meet up with friends, have a coffee or glass of wine. Suites have full kitchens, comfortable beds and provide every service a fine hotel offers.

Room Tip: Pent house give the pano view of SF

There are many reasons this is still a luxury hotel but it is significantly less of one since we were here 2 years ago.
First of all the decor has been completely overhauled to a millennial style. It took getting used to and we did.
Concierge floor device and food were 5* with exception of the coffee, thankfully the nesspresso machine in the room was delicious. Usually the coffee at the ritz is worth going back for, it was weak, in the lobby it was cold, generally no flavor.
Worst by far was the bed and the towels. Towel were worse than an embassy suite. Pills, snags, thin and rough. I've never seen this at a ritz. The bed was a disappointment, usually a bed worth coming back for. Pillow was like a lead rock and I had to call done for a feather, comforter was heavy not the fluffy light as air type customarily at a ritz.
I hate to say but the people at the top need to get this figured out. Get quality control in here to spend the night and go yo 8th floor. The low level staff and glowers in the lobby are excellent and just as you'd expect. This is with the exception of the half dead orchids on the 8th floor the entire stay. Please figure this out before we return. I'm a ritz customer through and through!

We only stayed for two nights, but the hotel location was great, exterior and interior of the hotel were both beautiful and staff attitude was great.

However, when we arrived at the hotel there wasn't a room available for us until 4 pm! We arrived at 11 am expecting the hotel to have rooms cleared out in an hour or two, but that simply wasn't the case. So we were directed to the spa to freshen up and come back later.

Besides, the checking in problem, everything else about the hotel was great.

This hotel is hard to find fault. The rooms are luxurious, the service is top class. The only down side was the steep hills to climb back to the hotel from down town .. but hey its San Francisco. This is a really great location and within walking distance of lots of the main attractions.

Fantastic, great atmosphere; friendly and professional staff.
Food in 37 , amazing.
Shame there isn't a pool , but Spa and gym are very good. Good selection of spirits in the bar , with entertainment in the evenings.
