The Fairmont offered superb service and comfortable surroundings. Shout out to the wait staff in the hotel restaurant and the doormen. I stayed in the Bali Suite which was well appointed with amenities including a Keurig Machine. I also appreciate that the property has not done away with room service. Some of us like to relax in-room at night and don't love the grab-and-go method of dining. Photo of dining room - old school, opulent but it was an oasis to sit out the recent poor air quality due to Camp Fire. Other photos from suite looking at Grace Cathedral and the P.U. Club.

Attended a business conference, enjoyed the experience. Cable cars stop right outside the coffee shop, very convenient to get back from the attractions on the bay. Food was good (if a little on the spendy side.

We were lucky enough to stay in the presidential suite for over a month and it was incredible. From the grand piano in the upstairs living room to the Increadable views. Large patio . marble everywhere. The service is beyond expectations. There are not enough words to describe our trip. The fairmont is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. We did not stay in the regular rooms but heard they are also very nice. But being totaly open i truly believe if you stay in any of there rooms the service would be the same. The staff is the BEST!

This is a fantastic, historic hotel in a magical neighborhood in the city. We stayed here as a sort of stay cation / business trip, and did not really leave the property much. Had room service, and sat at the bars, and hung out at the Tonga Bar. It was low key and great.

Room tip: Upgrade to city view room if you can, great views!

Since my husband had to give up running he has been riding a stationary bike but because of his back he prefers one that has a back to it, often called a Recumbant Bike, so our choice of hotel is now based on this factor. The gym not only has two Recumbant Bikes but it also is well laid out and well-equipped. The only complaint is that the gym does not open until 7 AM or later on the weekends.

Special thanks and appreciation to the concierge staff; they are all terrific. Charlene and Monica were especially helpful as we were trying to find activities that would please our granddaughter, a college freshman. She was very happy shopping in the marina area along Chestnut and we had a great dinner at Pacific catch restaurant. The next day, a Saturday, we enjoyed the Farmers market at the ferry terminal before taking the Golden Gate ferry to Sausalito. There, we took an Uber to Cavallo Point where we relaxed over a great late lunch.

We had several meals in the dining room and found the service excellent & the atmosphere relaxing. I asked for French fries with no salt; when the waitress noticed I wasn’t eating them she immediately came over and asked if they had salt on them. I was impressed with her attentiveness.

Room tip: We lucked out with what is called a “ city view” which was actually over looking the rooftop garden, very lovely. I was pleased to see this hotel also has the homes for the bumblebees, as did the Fairmont in Vancouver.

From the bell man to the switchboard operator, every person we encountered was extraordinarily polite, pleasant and helpful. The service was excellent. I don’t understand why anyone complained about the bathroom, it was perfectly fine. I like having a warm bathrobe just to snuggle in, the bed is comfortable and we simply called the operator to tell her to make a notation whenever we had to put anything in the refrigerator so that we would not be charged. Hubby had a good massage, location is great, Fairmont is well worth the cost.
