Fab location, helpful staff. Room clean bright. Concierge was more than helpful with great knowledge of the city. I would recommend this hotel for business, family time and couples. The only downside - they need to revisit their fire alarm system - it went off twice when we were there! I would stay there again.

I stayed here for one night on business and have essentially positive reactions. The lobby and rooms are spacious and well maintained and the hotel, at the lower part of Nob Hill, is well located. Service was attentive without being fawning and the downstairs area is an attractive place for a late night snack or drink. Hotel is also right next to the historic Mark Hopkins, so you can go there for nightcap as well. Hotel gym is well equipped and immaculate. My person preference might be to stay closer to the heart of the financial district or Union Square (e.g., the Omni), but this is still an excellent choice and I would definitely stay there again. Also, those who prefer Nob Hill should stay here.

Nice room with a view. Not the biggest room but who cares when you are in a city with so much to do. Right across from the Fairmont & Tonga Room! Great value at $150/night Right on the top of Nob Hill

Room Tip: Higher the better

Stayed one night. Hotel was lovely. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Even got us a reservation at a restaurant that was booked. The room was large and spacious, the bed was was very comfortable, and the room was clean. Enjoyed the concierge level service for breakfast and happy hour. Good location. It is located up on the hill so the walk down is easy but the walk up takes a little bit longer. Only a few blocks to China Town. I would stay here again. A real bargain for the price.

Originally the Stanford Court, it became a Marriott Family member awhile back, so now world-wide travelers will know what to expect! On Par with the Ritz Carlton further down the hill above the Stockton Tunnel, but with amazing proximity to Chinatown, Grace Cathedral and Shopping on Union Square. The Cable cars go past it in two directions the California Street line and the Taylor or Hyde Street to Market Street line.... So, one can even get down to Fisherman's wharf or the Cannery and Ghirardelli Square too on "public Transportation". The beautiful enclosed courtyard entrance with a classic Stained glass dome already sets it apart from the wind-swept hotel entries up hill (The Fairmont and the Mark Hopkins). The classic Private Dining room Fournu's Oven can be reserved for an elegant event and at the Aurea Dining Room one can enjoy "small plates" of fresh prepared bites until one is satiated. The meeting rooms are varied, for corporate board meetings to an intimate Grand Ballroom. I Luv-luv-luv this Hotel, a true gem of Nob Hill! http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-photos/sfosc-the-stanford-court-renaissance-san-francisco-hotel/

Room Tip: Lower floors "may" experience the classic cable car rumble and bell dinging. You know you...
